Congratulations to you (sorry for that word, but seems to fit). I'm glad you have the car back and this thread was/is invaluable documenting your experience.
Looks like you'll be moving now to the "payback" part of this sad experience which should put this thread at its half life. I wish you the best coming up and hope you continue to educate to this second part.

Thank you and definitely - I still have the same goal for this thread: educating and helping the next owner with this issue have an easier time than I did. I'll keep updating it until the situation is resolved.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I'm not an owner and after reading this among many other threads of unnecessary BS and the thread about data collection the C8 is a hard sell for me. This and the fact that being older I am seriously considering the Lexus 350 ES a whole different animal. At the least if was fun considering one last fun car before it gets to difficult to get in and out or sitting confined for long drives. Another consideration in not buying a C8 is the wait time and today after contacting a Lexus dealer it looks like I can be in a new one in short order. Thanks again and congrats with getting yours fixed and for being a role model to this cranky old man. Probably never change but it could influence my way of handling modern aggravations to some degree.

And I appreciate the other part, too. I'm just trying to avoid congratulating myself for being cool until the situation gets resolved without me losing my temper, haha

Updates from the Repair Order documentation:
The number for the updated valve body is 24059060. The original for which they were looking is 24045740.
It looks like they replaced the valve body, two filters (24047742 & 24045729), a gasket (24299343), and filled it with 12 liters of FFL-4 ATF (19418016).
3.2 hours to complete the repair.

It is going to take a few drive cycles for the transmission control (ECU) to adapt to the transmission it is now controlling post repair. You may not notice anything.

Adaptive relearn happens with every battery disconnect. It comes within 50 to 100 miles depending how consistent your driving habits are.

PDR footage shows someone reinstalling trim pieces in the frunk, so I would assume that means they disconnected the battery.

Two things, though:
1. We don't know if everything is fixed. We know that no codes or symptoms showed up on the tech's test drive or my 15-minute drive home from the dealership. When I get a chance to drive it for an hour or two, I'll feel a lot safer saying it's fixed.
2. I'm generally very happy - my life has very little room for complaints about anything. With that said, I am incredibly dissatisfied with the timeline of repair, lack of communication on the dealership's part, and with GM's dismissive attitude toward someone who bought their ~$90K car. Do you think anything I've detailed in this thread was inappropriate on my part?

Generally speaking, yes, I am very fortunate - it's a great life.

I think with dealerships, like most businesses, customer service and caring starts at the top of management or owner and is taught/demanded. When it's not, you have the average Chevy dealer. I believe GM (the real top) bears responsibility too.
I digress I know, but a friend who started fresh out of college at the bottom- doing repossessions for a major tractor manufacturer now owns 5 of their dealerships which are very successful - why - primarily because of customer service. It's sad that so many Chevy store owners can't realize this, are too lazy or just don't care. He could have easily had the same results with auto dealerships. Here is a part of one of their ads and I know from experience it's the absolute truth:
"Heartland is a locally owned company having developed a customer base expanding beyond 15 states. A reputation for quality and service maintains this base. However, our core business comes from farmers, contractors, and consumers who buy one piece at a time and keep coming back for the things for which we are known:
- SERVICE
- VALUE
- SELECTION
