Finally got around to enabling auto-record on the PDR, and after an incident with an officer I didn't agree with (don't worry, no ticket), I went to look at the video. I thought it was going to be a split-screen (front cam up top, rear on the bottom, etc.), so I was surprised to see just the front view (and not as wide angle as I would have preferred). Are there other view options buried in some menu I haven't visited yet?

No you aren't missing anything. PDR only captures the front view unfortunately.

Interesting thought, though. Since there is a rear view camera/mirror it's a shame a feed couldn't be incorporated into the PDR/Dash Cam functionality.

I REALLY wish the PDR captured what was in the rear mirror cam! Having only a front camera is half the picture.

Definitely true, but the main thing to worry about is someone rear-ending you and claiming you backed into them or braked too hard, or maybe that you left your lane while driving and hit them. Front recording would still be enough to invalidate all of those.

Sure would be nice if it got both, but I think it's still good enough coverage that I'm not going to bother with a separate rear cam.

I enabled the camera since there seems to be a larger-than-average supply of idiots around these parts who insist on doing idiot things... brake checks, lane cut-offs, etc. Not having access to the rear camera leaves half of the evidence on the cutting room floor. What a waste...
