Default How my rear tires looking

So these have about 10k miles on them.

They are looking pretty wore to me but I do not remember how they looked when new.

So do these need replacing or do I have some time still?

I would get new tires. The rubber is getting thin and you are running out of tread. Tread depth prevent hydroplaning, the thinner the tread the less water the tire can evacuate.

You get a gold star for burnouts.
If the backs wear out in half of the time of the fronts, it means you are driving right. Keep that rubber burning !!

Buy a cheap tire tread depth gauge from Amazon, anything less than 4/32" will need to be replaced

Serviceable, but you should start looking at sourcing new tires. I would replace as a set, but you can likely get away with just rears.

I have never done a burnout.

I do live in East TN and drive on great roads all the time and I do push the car as hard as I safely feel to do.

I was expecting more miles out of them.

The fronts are wore as well but not as badly as the rears.

I have been thinking a lot about getting a Z06 so I may just do that instead of replacing these tires.

Good advice. The absolute minimum depth is 2/32" but because of the width of our tires 4/32" is more appropriate. Looks to me like you may be below even 2/32" and you are surely below 4/32".

Find the wear bar and take a photo of that. Nice Spyder.

Interesting read to the bottom about The Michelin Premier tire lines

Legal to drive on? Yes. Worn out? Yes. Time for new. If in doubt use the penny trick. Cheaper than a depth gauge as it doesn't cost a cent.

Default Carnac says...........

Go to the nearest Discount Tire for a 'free' inspection. And they will tell you to buy new tires. I'd heed that advice.

Been driving a C7 for 7 years, 90k miles and I usually get tires about every 10k. So you're doing good. Get tires.

I thought a C8 should get 25,000 with normal driving.

funny as I have a base car with the All Seasons, I was expecting at least 20k miles before looking this bad.

I would not trust a tire store to tell me when I needed new tires, much like I wouldn't trust a brake shop to tell me when I need brakes.
