I ordered a '23 coupe from 2 local dealers last spring. Changed them both to HTC after looking at a 70th 3LT HTC at another local dealer a couple of weeks later. I ended up buying a slightly used '22 coupe the end of June. There were quite a few threads about folks having issues with their HTC tops at the time. So I bought the coupe and waited a little while to see how happy I was with it. I eventually decided I was happy with my coupe and cancelled my HTC orders, and got back my deposits.

To OP, Congrats on your HTC! I had a C7 coupe, and it was a great car, but I put the top down on my 2024 Z51 HTC LT3 much more often, especially where I live in the Northwest, because the weather can change quickly. Not only is it easier to use, but I never liked looking at the engine. Although many like window in back, I never found that a selling point. Personally, I loved the design of the HTC the first time I saw it.

Now I keep seeing these pictures of those clear covers and your comment about the car shows is true. I've got two shows coming up in May and I'm sure that I'll be thinking about how to make this happen without my wife knowing about it. Looks great!!!

When I was looking at 2018-2019 C7s GS in early 2021 and saw that for just a bit more money I could buy a C8 I asked my wife what she thought. She loved our C5 convertible - we kept it the longest we ever kept a Corvette - and she wanted a C7 GS convertible because a friend had one that she loved. When I approached her about the C8 she relented with the caveat that I buy an HTC. When we went to look at one the Corvette Sales Manager at the dealership where we bought it let us sit in it, showed us how the HTC worked, and my wife commented that she was happy that I wouldn't need to customize my engine compartment which I've done on my four previous Corvettes. We ordered mine that day.

There have been a few HTC parts failures, usually some cables in/under the roof/tonneau, that raise and lower it, I think?
Haven't seen too many reports of it, though, overall. Most, like mine, have performed well with no problems.
Manually removing and replacing the coupe's roof panel isn't foolproof either.
You can drop it, accidentally bang it into, or drag it across other parts of the car during remove/replace, it fills the trunk, and God forbid you don't latch them up properly, they can become road or people kill on the freeway (or drag strip).
Also, better a part fails in the car's mechanicals, than my arthritic shoulders.
One button up or down was my only option.

As long as you aren't a fool there's no problem.

If Chevy produced the C8 without an HTC option, I probably wouldn't have bough one. At the time I had a deposit on a Lotus Emira and probably would have just bought that. But the C8 bang for the buck was just too attractive to pass up. Love my C8 HTC. Nice blend of convenience and functionality.

Glad I got the HTC. I do miss the visible engine thing, but besides that the HTC looks way more exotic, especially when the tops is down.
I had a C6 and took the Targa out a lot. It sucks when it's taking up trunk space, it sucks when the weather suddenly turns the crap. Also a gust of wind while removing or installing the top can ruin your day really fast.
Oh, and lets not forget trying to remove a scalding hot top on a sunny day. I had to keep a pair of gloves in my car for that.

A HTC owner will never become a member of the Flying Roof Club, only coupe owners are eligible...

The 'Flying Roof Cub' threads which some seem to consider comical ignore me a bit as a dislodged targa top flying through someone's windshield is not Funny in any way.
