2025 RHD Delivery
Hi everyone,
New guy here. Never had a Corvette ( but ALWAYS 😍❤️ them!!) or really any sports car before but have driven plenty of exotics so please excuse my ignorance in advance.
Looking to get a 2025 allocation from a dealership from a right-hand drive country. I was told that I should order from them in December 2024 but I’m not even sure they will get an allocation or I’ll just have to choose from what they have and not get my order to spec as there is so much lead time, not to mention uncertainty.
I was hoping if anyone of you might have inside connections at GM where I could get the opportunity to take delivery in the states rather than outside of the US.
If anyone knows Tadge or any of the executive suite team that could possibly make this happen for me, I would be eternally grateful for an introduction just to even ask the question. One can hope, right?
Please help a dreamer. Thanks,
MKK1

Hi,
I saw a video with Tadge and 2 others speaking in front of a grey Z06. Is this the video you referencing?
Tadge mentioned one line about RHD’s in the video and that was it. If not, can you post it or drop a link?
Thanks

My understanding is beyond RHD there may be other US regulatory issues with cars designated for foreign countries, which cause issue here as well.

Every Corvette built has an option code for the country it is being built for. You can't get a RH drive for US no dealer or GM management person can make that happen. The only RH drive Corvettes in this country are the Captured Test Fleet Cars that the Corvette Engineering Team use for evaluation.

Thanks, Ron! It seems as though the issue with RHD cars are not the laws in the US but the laws where the car was built to be driven and their agreements with the US manufacturers, ie corvette, in this instance.

Anyone can have a RHD car in the US, as it’s not against the law. Some of the issues present may incorporate people that aren’t aware of how kilometers translates into miles and, to a smaller extent that , the turn signals and radio dials will be opposite of what we have all come to know over our years of driving here in the US, which are different on these (RHD) cars. Having opposite turn signals may unfortunately translate into some accidents for people who are just used to the “default”.

wait... why would the turn signals be opposite? I dont think thats how that works lol... left is still left and right is still right... drivers seating doesn't change that.

Depending on the car, it does. You may think you are signaling right but then you turn on your wipers. I’ve driven several RHD’s and this was the case with all of them except the VW.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking for a RHD car in the states? Do you plan on moving to a RHD country in the future?
Just curious as the entire US Infrastructure is built with LHD in mind - tolls, drive thru's etc.

He wants to buy here, drive while he's here and then send it home like so many do with M-B's or other cars and then ship them here to the US.
The turn signals don't flash wrong the stalks are on the other side of the steering wheel is all... Not difficult.

I like the way this dude dreams. He actually can get a 2021 RHD vette imported back to america in 2046 when he can use the 25 year rule applies as they made RHD vettes in 2021.
