Default C7 GS Collector Edition

I currently own a 2023 C8 Z51 3LT HTC and I absolutely love it. HOWEVER, I have found a 2017 GS Collectors Edition with some beautiful mods done and only 4200 miles on it. Am I crazy for even thinking about selling my C8 to buy this car or should I buy it. I dont need 2 and ive owned 5 previous corvettes, but ive never owned a C7. I was wondering your thoughts from people who have owned the C7 and what your thoughts are here. Oh and it's a M7 speed also. I dont race or track my car but I do love a Manual trans. Not looking to get bashed here but wanted some honest opinions on the Collector edition car.

thanks

DCT is boring as hell so the C7 M7 is going to be loads more exciting to drive if you know what you're doing.

I think that it’s a step sideways/backwards, but I get not wanting to own both. There’s the money aspect etc, plus there’s too much overlap.

the C7 will depreciate, it won’t appreciate for a long time. If you want a manual, how about a C5 ZO6, I’m guessing they are fully depreciated and starting to move up. They’re cheap enough that you can have both (since money isn’t unlimited) and it will satisfy your need for a manual, plus it very, very different from the C8.

you can drive it for 10 years and really not lose money. I kept my C3, it’s a completely different car than the C8 so there’s no overlap at all. The C7 and C8 are different, but both modern, so there is a lot of overlap.

I would go for it if you are really thinking about it allot. Keep in mind that if you dont like the experience of the GS. You can always come back and buy a new C8 as they will be making them for a few more years I think. You will always have the fallback.
To be honest. I would probably get a C7Z instead of the GS. It would be more enjoyable with the extra HP/Torque

The only thing I miss about my C7 Z06 is the M7… and the torque, but otherwise the C8 is better in every way. If on the fence for a GS, remember that the grass isn’t always greener.

I have the same 23 C8 Z51 HTC 3LT and I had a 2015 Z51. There is a night and day difference between the two. The C7 is awesome but the C8 is way more refined and a completely different animal to drive. The only thing that would attract me is the old shool 3 pedals.

C7 Z06 MT must have been a blast.. My C6 Z06 MT certainty was. Never tried a C7 Z06. I should have ordered a C7 ZR1 MT.

I'm kind of new to Corvettes. Always wanted one (since my cousin let me play with the flip up lights in 1963). I finally bought a beautiful C5 3 years ago, manual, of course. Red with black double stripes!
After 9 months, I thought I wanted a C7. Bought a beauty. 2016, manual. Sold the C5.
Drove it for one short month, and, I realized I'd made a mistake. The C7 felt like a luxury car compared the the C5, it ways way too polite. The C5 put your butt on the road.
Sold the C7 almost immediately and bought another C5. Black on Black.
6 months later, a Black on Black C5, Z06 came into my life. I love the Z06. It's cherry.
Now, I'm jonezing for a C8.
I think Fishfryer527 ( you're a baddd influence) has the right idea- " They’re cheap enough that you can have both (since money isn’t unlimited) and it will satisfy your need for a manual, plus it very, very different from the C8."
I might be able to fit both the Z06, and a C8 in my garage...

It was a blast. Even w/the nannies on it could get squirrelly, but that was half the fun.

Go with whatever YOU like best. We here at the Forum have nothing to do with your personal preferences. All the best, no matter what you decide.

(p.s., if it still has the pitiful OEM wheels, allow for new fully-forged aftermarket... check the C7 Forum if you aren't aware of this issue)

This. The C7 is a fine car - and if you are looking for a manual transmission, it would be a great choice.

Yup; decade obsolete rattle box. Don't miss my C7 in the least. It sounded better but that's about it.

Go get the C7, if the grass isn't any greener on the other side, you can always go back to the C8

That is Grey exterior with the blue interior? Very nice color combination.
