This. I wouldnt want an Eray simply due to the added complexity. If I could gey a modern engine and suspension but with 99% of the rest of the car being late 90s/early 2000s tech I'd take it in a new york minute. Dont need dps, hybrid drive trains, esld, crash avoidance, adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, HID, etc etc etc. Just more crap to break down the road.
But for OP I think searching for a deeper discount on a 2LZ eray might be the best call.
Hate to tell you but everything in this world is adding more and more tech, it is what is happening and yes there will be complexities with it. I am sure have heard the term designed obsolescence, thats unfortunately what is coming. However, this is also what warranties and extended warranties are for.
Avoiding something that has performance advantages bc of fear of failure is understandable but the reality is it will become unavoidable unless you want to freeze time and never buy anytbing new
Off of the line punch is fun but that is something like 0.001% of my driving time since I don’t track the car and don’t have roads in my part of the country that will let you use big power without bad results. For me the e-ray represents a little more weight, more cost, and more complexity with the only payback being a very occasional giggle.
I think it all gets down to how you use the car.
Exactly...what's the point? Just to say "I have a E-Ray" is not enough for me. I have a 3LT with every option but Z51 and front lift because I would never use either one of them. if you were looking for a 3LT why would you even consider a 1LZ? Is it about saving money or being happy with what you really want, that is the question I would be asking myself. Compare apples to apples for your own future sanity...just my opinion, what do I know, good luck. I have compromised on many things in life..the cars I own and drive...never.
I've never owned an eray but just sold my 2021 3LT SR anticipating buying an eray soon....
Here's what ill say...if it has to be one of these 2 cars id go with the one that is more fun to drive. Period.
however that being the case you should really ask yourself if there are any features you have to have....for me a 1lt would be a no go just bc of the lack of some basics.
Id say go a 3rd option....wait or keep looking IF you are settling. There are going to be more and more out there and you are going into the time of year where it becomes a buyer's market
Good luck!
lack of some basic? lol name 1 basic option that the 1LT doesn’t have just 1of course I’m going to assume you know what basic means
The 1lz has so many standard items that are options on the 3lt like magnetic ride,bigger wheels and tires, ptm, hud, npp exhaust ect. And also standard in a 1lz that you CANT get in a 3lt is wide body, 160 more HP, AWD, stealth mode carbon ceramic brakes I mean need I need to say more? Let’s be real a basic 1lz it’s way better optioned that a loaded 3lt just based on the examples given

I would go with the Stingray. I won't be drag racing so I don't need the electric motor. The <3.0 0-60 for the Stingray is plenty fast for me. I love my 3LT interior. My last three Corvettes have had 3LT/4SC interiors.

Front view camer and hd rear view, also the safety features to start. For me no front camera would be a no go. Also in today's day seat heaters are super basic as is a steering wheel heater- no way am I buying a 100k car without those basics - basic enough for ya?

The stealth mode is amazing esp if you are going to change the exhaust

Which is why my next big car expense will most likely be a superformance Grand Sport with a crate engine and a tremec 6speed manual. It will not have ANY of the "safety" features like automatic braking or adaptive cruise. But it will be a modern engine and a manual trans in an otherwise 'frozen in time' chassis. Exactly what I want.
I might get a used LC500 to use as a daily driver and save the superformance grand sport for weekends, but no modern overly-complicated car will be a "forever car" for me. The biggest issue with hybrids is the inevitable need to replace the battery pack. I doubt it is nearly as easy or as simple as replacing the main battery in the engine bay (or in the frunk in the C8's case).
I can get a 0-60 at around 3.5-4 seconds in a superformance, without all the intrusive overrated tech.
I dont mean to derail the thread though. It sounds like OP will be best suited with a 2LZ eray, but to each his own.
Answer is easy. Do you want a luxury car or a sports car? Leaving 160HP and the table for some leather idk.
I have a 1LT and it is more than nice enough. Especially in Red. Not to mention the Eray comes standard with Mag ride, Carbon Ceramic brakes, the wide body, they added the leather to the airbag and the rear view camera mirror so its all there.
IDK your living situation but the silent exit in the morning would be very nice as well.
I would only care about those extra features on a daily driver (maybe). I bought my C8 for performance and style and I have plenty of other vehicles that I drive daily with fancy comfort features. Its not even about the money, for me the C8 has a specific purpose.
I have to admit, I was down on the 1LT/1LZ option thinking that it was "basic". I was at a dealer today and they had three 1LT C8s on the floor, they are still pretty sharp...I have to agree with some folks, I would take the widebody ERay 1LT over the SR 3LT. Plus it is a better deal based on the numbers...

SR = $13K savings
ERay = $20K savings
Yeah there's just too many essentials in the 2LZ that I would want if I am spending over 100k on a car but I do totally get the pov, they are nice cars any way you slice it!
Pick isn't working, but that should be where the motor is. All of the cutaways and interviews I've seen say that the battery is in the tunnel.
Your right the battery is in the tunnel, I took the picture as the frunk vs my Stingray gets hot so I had wrapped it helped, the picture was to show the electric motors the best from that angle. I also had my trunk heat wrapped when I put my AFE exhaust from my Stingray to my new ERay. It helped in both the frunk and trunk.
