So I think we can agree the wing is obviously a functional piece but to most not the prettiest for anything other then track use. Why with all this tech and time aren't they designing an elegant active aero rear wing? It would solve the higher speed issues from the Z06, less drag, more downforce and resolves the issues for the customers that have no interest in a car with the giant wing. Does it really cost that much, and at the price point does an extra couple grand even matter? I hardly think weight would be a factor, it's pretty well proven that the benefits far outweigh the weight. Based on the replies it appears the wing may lose hundreds of potential sales and I don't think it's because of price.
About time the Corvette caught up with the rest of the world. Even the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am came with a wing. That was 35 years ago.
Better looking than the 1X8 from Home Depot bolted onto the top of the rear bumper, sticking straight up. A wing also creates more downforce with less aero drag.
I just don't like the look. No desire to ever purchase. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Stingray but not this.
Here's the thing its functional, more so than the current Z06 witht he Z07 aero.
Unless you plan to take the car to track days this isn't the right C7 for you.
Think GT3 RS, think M4 GTS, ACR Viper - These are dedicated track weapons not meant primarily for street use. Im sure there will be plenty of owners that will buy this and not take it to the track but shouldnt we all be happy to see team Corvette expanding the brand
