Default LT5 engine supercharged

Looks like a more up to date RPO code search shows the LT5 listed as supercharged and there is no longer any mention of DOHC like the previously linked RPO guide.

Saw this originally on GMI and didn't see any mention here yet.

This makes total sense now. When I observed the ZR1 testing at Laguna Seca for three days last month I could tell that the sound track came from a LT4 with a bigger SC. It had a definite deeper sound than the ZO6 that was also testing there. 1.7 liter vs 2.65 liter supercharger will do that. They obviously would have to expand the diameter of the exhaust system as well. More air in, more air out !!!!

So they are making the ZR1 what the Z06 should have been (minus the large wing). That's a bit upsetting...

Ive noticed they're also testing the ZR1 without with big wing... interesting. Hopefully there is an option to get one without it and I'm in.

^^^ They might offer it with 2 configurations....large or small wing. I like them both.

I am liking both as well. Unfortunately, I don't do road courses etc. but may do the 1/2 mile or Texas Mile roll runs (less stress on the baby) so less down force is my goal. I hope she comes out next year since I am this close to buying a C7Z and putting a big blower on it!

Down force is okay if you don't create too much drag. IMHO the spoiler on the current Z looks like a parachute. A wing should be much more efficient. Some of the Z owners were picking several MPH just removing the center section of the wing at the Texas Mile.
