I am loving my Z06. Might just keep it when/if the mid engine comes out.
I'm in the same boat. If the mid engine doesn't completely blow me away or if it still uses only an ICE then I will keep the Z, mod the hell out of it and turn it into a weekend warrior and go buy some fun electric as a DD. After nearly three years of ownership I'm still in awe every time I see my car and am certainly still enjoying the drive.
Mid. The driving dynamics are simply better. On such a car I think it makes sense to sacrifice trunk space for driving dynamics.
What do you mean there will be no space for lawn chairs? Carlisle will not be able to get the Guinness Book Records for the most lawn chairs in one location.

Mid engine all the way. I've owned every generation of Corvette and they simply get better each generation. It will be the same with the mid engine. Better handling dynamics. That's why all the exotics are built on that platform.
Guess I'll have to find a more compact lawn chair

I'll go with the majority seeing that I probably won't own a vette anytime soon. With that said, I do not like that extra deck behind the hatch. You can throw a kids party there.
Too early to tell what the ME Vette will be like. We don't even know if it is just going to be GT competitor or an actual vette yet. 5yrd is aweful short run for such a good vette design.

Agree, 5 year is too short a run. ZR1 next year and then a couple more years for the current platform probably.
This is definitely a halo car for GM (ala Ford GT).
The C8 platform will be the same as the C7 - Front Engine, RWD due to development costs.
