I think it's safe to say, the idea of a mid-engine Corvette has "brought the kid out again" in many, many people.
The number of sketches and drawings on this forum, remind me of drawing cars in the 6th grade, much like the look of the one above. When C7 was announced there were some digital (and often highly realistic) renderings, but never have I seen so many people with a pen and pad...and frankly marginal drawing ability, inspired to sketch their own example. It must really spark the mind in a whole different sector of enthusiast and I'm sure GM would like to know who that is.
Is this about being predictive, or being credited with insight? Is it about being that excited and wanting to see it so badly, its inspired something? I have to say, I'm intrigued by it, and there is definitely a pattern here that has cause.

I see u are thinking the engine cover will be flat w louvers and the rear glass will be vertical giving us a tunnel w buttresses on the side. Is your render of a convertible or do u think the coupe will be the same?

Yes this is what I think the "Hard top Vert'' will look like with a panel behind window to stow the folding roof, and the vented engine cover just behind that. and yes I do think the coupe will be the same just a spot for the "removable" roof to be stored.

IMO, the concept of buttresses and tunnel window is further strengthened by the use of a camera feed for rear view mirror imaging or at the least to enhance the rear view mirror function.

Hey guys thanks for your interest in this pic I drew, I was so excited that I updated the pic to look a lot cleaner and I took my time on this one. So hope you like it!
just a quick sketch on what I think this car may look like based off leaks and spy photos.
Looks like you strove for accuracy. Good on ya. I think the rear end is ugly beyond belief--not your fault, and the car itself kinda conventional. Again. Not your fault.
I can not get excited about the mid engine car. With the C6 and C7 couldn’t purchase one soon enough. Future purchase; Maybe another C7 or something from another manufacturer?

They need to bring back rounded taillights. There's a reason Ferraris age so much better than than Lambos...the lines are more sculpted on Ferraris whereas on Lambos the lines are too harsh. For this reason the C7 taillights will not age well.

That butt is so ugly, any individual feature such as tail lights is lost in the mess. BTW, the rear end is the sole design weakness of the C7. It works. But barely.

I'm another with a problem on the C7 rear. It seems the butt just kept growing C7>C6>C5>C4>C3, and the division of upper and lower panels in the middle did not help the C7 rear.
For me, anything on the rear of the ME will likely not be any worse. At least they are getting rid of the cluster of centered tail pipes (finally). And they forced me to buy a C7 with those discounts last fall
I Love the vertical rear window, ala C3 coupe!
