Has anyone seen how the C8 engine compartment is layed out? Is it like the Cayman, where the engine is covered up, or like a Ferrari 488, where the engine compartment and cockpit are separated by a window? I'm hoping more like the Ferrari 488. It would be easier to work on, and visually more attractive.
The difference with the ME Corvette is that we believe there needs to be somewhere to stow the targa roof which I believe will be the same place as the convertible - ie over the engine. The fastback 488 can show the engine because the roof is fixed. The engine in a 488 spyder is not visible.
Of course I could be wrong about the coupe roof stowage. No one knows at this point

I think the top will store in a slot either fore or aft of the engine under the rear hatch.
