Default C8 Logo?

Hi guys, I remember that several months before the C7 was officially announced, GM released the emblem for the C7, and as we all know, every single gen since 1953 has had it's unique flags. Is there any intel on what the new emblem might look like?
What do you think.

No insider intel, but just my guess based on the history of the last 3 generations...

The C5 had a set of crossed flags placed over an oval.
The C6 had a similarly designed set of crossed flags without the oval.
The C7 has a set of crossed flags angled more narrowly than the C6 logo.
So.....I'm thinking that the C8 will have a similar set of crossed flags as the C7 but placed over an oval.

I guess we'll all see in a few months.

I am actually hoping there would be no oval whatsoever, it would not fit the aggressive styling of the car at all. Hoping for it to be similar to the C7 with a sharp angle at the V, and flags spreading out horizontally, I feel like that might look the best.

I would love to see the original concept emblem of the American Flag and checkered flag. Saw it in person a couple weeks ago at the Corvette Museum and it looked great.

The C7 logo was revealed at The Corvette Corral at Petit Lemans in October 2012. That upcoming race is three weeks away.

As it turns out you can't have the American flag on a trademarked logo. Which is why the original concept crossed flags had to be changed to the now famous version. I do agree though, it looked awesome.

FThanks to CRABBYJ, we have the below rendering. It is more than just fantasy IMO, for it follows the C6 to C7 progression of the “tighter V.” Additionally it is consistent with Kirk Bennion’s interview and comments in early 2013 as to why that tighter shape for the C7 occurred, the feeling/emotion of greater speed. So smartly, CRABBYJ further tightened the V as his thought for the possible C8 emblem.

IMO, there is a good chance we will have something pretty close to this, though perhaps somewhere within it some sort of tribute to Zora.

I really like the C7 logo. I doubt they will bring back an oval similar to the C4 and C5 generations, but they need to differentiate the flag somewhat from the C7 and I'm not sure if just stretching it and making it more vertical will be enough,

Deep down, I kinda wish they would just keep the C7 logo going forward.

That render is sweet, if they tight it a little bit more for the C9 it will turn into a Pontiac emblem

That pinched C7 logo is terrible. All I can think of when I see it is that someone clicked the wrong checkbox in their editing software.

We're getting a radically new car. The new logo should be more than just a squeezed version of the old one.

They ditched pop up headlights, round taillights. What stops them from ditching cross flags?

Agreed. It also no longer looks like waving flags, but an arrow filled in with traditional design cues.

Because a logo/emblem matters so much more than contemporary or outdated design language.

Yea, crossed flags is the brand! You don't change it unless you stop production and have to do an entire rebrand.

I believe they will keep the logo one solid figure, as it's easier to keep clean and install.

I agree with you on all counts.

I hope they find a way to respect the past/tradition (crossed flags), but also represent the C8's innovation and revolutionary status in Corvette's legacy.

I'm glad I don't have that assignment!
