I was getting my oil changed today in my 2019 ZL1 and the corvette technician has not been notified of any scheduled training on the mid engine model. As soon as he has to go for training he’ll let me know. Then we will have a pretty good timeline on production date.

I would seriously doubt that there would be any info on training until well after the reveal, and production will probably have already begun as well.
GM has been very tight lipped about this project. I think in part because a mid engine Corvette is too big of story to leak anything too soon, the other part is that they may want to have the option to pull the plug on it or at least delay it for a year or so if they get cold feet.
That's odd, I took my Colorado into my Chevy dealer and the oil change dude couldn't stop talking about the C8. Said he already was trained on how to drop the engine to change the oil.
LOL, now that is just pure evil. I know that you know that it's now likely for posts to start popping up in various places from folks complaining that the engine will have to be dropped to change the oil.

The Veyron uses a dry-sump oiling system with 16 different drain plugs, accessible after intricately removing parts of the underbody, which takes hours. Refilling requires removing the car's grill, rear fender liners and rear deck including rear brakes, which are bigger than front brakes.
Maybe that impresses some people but to me it's just poor engineering.

Same.
I was talking to our cat this morning - Was giving me the low down on the service schedule.
I just posted because my over 50 years experience and as a certified tech in the past is an indicator of new models coming.
Iv’e owned over 50 Vette’s and I assure you I won’t be sitting on the side lines...I will get one of the first ones.
The dealers will not be able to take delivery or deliver a C8 until they have certified techs.

You are referring to ONE technician aren't you? Several members here have posted that their experience with Chevrolet techs PROVE that they absolutely KNOW NOTHING

I’m sure many don’t, but dealer has to have tech certified for corvette no matter how clueless they are.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
