Why no Gills?
I have noticed that NONE of the renders that are making their way around the forum have gills in them. To me, that is one of the main items of the Corvette design since way back in 1958.
I still think that this is something that even the best renders are missing.
Give us some Corvette Gills.
I have mentioned this before but it gets lost in the noise so wanted to make a separate post.

OP you do realize that all the renderings are just guesses and not the actual car?? No matter adding gills, wings, propellers and so on won't change what GM and the Corvette team have designed.

I know, I have a Boxster and it does have front exhaust portals, just in the wheel wells. I still feel the gills are more than just an exhaust or intake portal. To me they are synonymous with "Corvette".

Some mid/rear engined cars have air outlets/ducts/wings of some sort forward of the door. Controlling the air flow is as important as removing heat (which there will be alot of if there are any forward mounted radiators). Some examples include the Enzo, LaFerrari, McLaren 720S, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 - granted these are mostly 'hypercars'. The hood vent theory on the C8 would make sense to remove some high pressure air from the front of the car if they aren't doing side vents or fully paneling the underbody surfaces.

The vents were not even functional on the solid axle Vettes. My 61 has them, but they did not function. Moore of a styling exercise, like the louvered hood on the 58. They were sealed from the engine compartment.
My 65 has "gills". They did vent the engine compartment minimally.
Obviously the mid engine's venting will be towards the side/rear of the vehicle. I would love to see some styling cues that harken to the past, but if it looks more like a Ferrari it won't exactly burst my bubble.
