The C8 topic seems to have really jumped the shark at this point. I have said many, many times - Those who know don't talk, and those who talk don't know. One incredible thread after another seems to pop up, claiming unsubstantiated "facts", outrageous opinions, and speculations. Of course we are all excited about the upcoming mid-engine car, and the lack of "official" information from GM has created a vacuum into which all sorts of crazy comments seem to be inexorably drawn. Some of the renderings, based on the disguised prototypes seen out testing, are very well done and I'm sure they have quite a bit of the car's eventual look pretty close to right . . . but beyond that, speculation is just that. Sure, it's hard to wait - so we make up our own "facts" - I suppose that's only human. Let's just not get too carried away with the silliness. Other than some of the renderings I mentioned, there really hasn't been much worth viewing on this topic for quite a while.

It's really tough for a lot of folks excited for the C8 as there hasn't been any activity in the past few weeks- no new spy shots, Nurburgring testing, date announcements, etc.
So all that's left is for people to banter and speculate in the meanwhile. Which is fine as long as they are not presenting these as facts.

Speaking of spy shots, when WAS the last official spotting of a camoed/test ME? Seems like it’s been well over two months now (early September?). It’s interesting that we got so much activity from the fleet at the ‘Ring and here (Colorado) and there nothing. Like all the test cars just vanished. Is that usually SOP for a test regime? Just curious what others think about that.
Why has GM chosen a few members on the Forum to be their official spokes persons instead of someone from the Corvette Team who has all the information? The days of secret car introductions are long gone but GM holds on to the past and insists on using rumors from social media to keep the anticipation of the ME alive.

Only Zerv02 knows the answer to this, after his school bus drops him off maybe he'll check in.

Oh, wait - I guess that's just my opinion.
Huh?
I don't get your point...
GM has DELIBERATELY decided to release ZERO information about their future halo car...and this is the internet.
If they want to squash rumors before they get started on the net, then they damn well better release some Official Information about the car and stop acting like the C8 is a National Security Top Secret for fnck's sake.

Wait, you're talking, and the majority of us are talking the same talk as you. So there are 3 categories:
1) Those who aren't talking.
2) Those who are talking and living in some sort of fantasy world.
3) Those talking who confess we can't possibly know exactly what to expect, but staying grounded in reality.
Just think about the many many people who know actual facts about the coming C8 and have kept very quiet! Those who work in Detroit, Bowling Green, all the vendors making parts for the C8 all in secrecy. They (GM) have done a great job in keeping us guessing in all aspects.
As expected, the replies pretty much run the gamut from agreeing that too much is being said by folks who know too little, to those who miss the point entirely and continue to cling to their fantasies. And that's fine. As the only Democrat I ever respected, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, was fond of saying . . . . "You are entitled to your own opinion - but you are NOT entitled to your own facts."

You mad, bro? Or you'll do what? Stomp your feet? Run and shout? Hire a lawyer?
With GM's elimination of 14,000 jobs, and the cancelling of 6 family sedans all at once, ... I'm thinking the Mid Engined Corvette is no longer seen testing, because it's future is being "re-evaluated" ... Just my opinion

If u think Mary Barra woke up on the wrong side of the bed last week and decided to eliminate 15k jobs, u don’t understand much about corporate decision making. Re-evaluation of the Corvette would have been done long before spending a dime of the $400M spent for the BG plant rehab.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
