Default C8 interior room

I am not sure if this has been discussed already, but I couldn't find a thread in regards to this. I know it is hypothetical, but here goes.

My main concern with the ME layout will be interior room. One of the many things I have loved about the C5 and newer corvettes was the interior room for someone my size. 6'4", 300 (yes I need to lose weight), but my height is an issue also. So, one of the issues with every mid engine car I've tried to get in, I can't. So, does this seem like it will be an issue with the C8. I love the design, just not sure I would fit.

Cut the backrest off the seat and leave the roof off.

You make the same observations as me. Owned a C5 and the interior room was great. Moved to a C6 and although a little smaller, I am fine (especially after shortening the dead peddle on the left side of the foot well). Along comes the C7, and I don't fit comfortably. Yes, there is that trick to disconnect the sensor behind the seat to gain some more seat travel, but the cockpit is also too narrow...

Given the trend from C5 to C7, I am not holding my breath for the ME - but - one can hope...

I certainly hope so. I agree with above poster that C5 was perfect as far as room went. Now I have both a C6 and a C7 and there is no way in hell that the C7 is anywhere near as comfortable as the C6. I’m 6’6” (190) and gotta squeeze in the C7. I only hope they spent a little more time with the C8 thinking about taller people fitting in these things, because when I look at the younger generation coming up, I am seeing a LOT of tall kids. Certainly can’t keep making them smaller, which has been the trend if they want to keep selling them.

Its gonna be a tight fit just like the C7. Over 6ft and 250 pounds and it's a big no thanks. Lol

Depends on one’s different body measurements. There was a member of this forum who posted he was 6’7”, 240 pounds and he was fine in his C7. GM like every manufacturer, designs to the 95% percentile.

Neil, you've started a thread and asked a question that NO ONE can answer because there is NO CAR yet.

I'm 6'3" 260ish... The C5 is a smidge roomier, but that smidge makes all the difference in the world. I fit fine in the C7, but I find myelf bumping into the interior a little more. Many taller folks tell me "I can't fit in the C7", but they never learned how to adjust the seats due to the "stop sensors" under the carpet. If the seat back hits that sensor before the seat base is down and back the seat stops moving. I'm currently setting my car up for the track and it fits a custom race seat just as well as my C5s did. I think the sloping roof line creates a smidge less head room, but my real complaint is the "point" at the lower left corner of the dash. That sucker really messes with your legs getting in/out where as the C5 put the far left HVAC vent in the door the C7 puts in in the dash and makes that area tight.

I'm hoping with a ME layout they'll be able to make the interior roomier, but we'll see. Rumor is one of the execs in the C5 era was a taller/large guy and he was adamant he be able to comfortably fit in the car.

I'd expect side-room to be tighter in the C8, because of the door side-reliefs enabling better air entry into rear scoops.

The C8 will have a much narrower center tunnel, but the rest is anyone's guess. With the cab forward design the wheel well could impinge on left leg room, and headroom is anyone's guess.

^^^ Looks a little narrower seeing the pics side by side, but not as much as you could expect. But have to have room for coolant pipes and wiring and enough space so you and the passenger don't hit elbows too much.

I would think that it is tight because of the way they carved out the drivers door to gain some elbow room.
