Place your bets... what transmission(s) do you think will be offered for the C8? Will those of us who still enjoy using their left foot be left out, cold and lonely in the dark, or will all these nasty rumors about the C8 only being available with an automatic go unfounded?
I went with both... I don't see GM alienating the manual fanbase which comprises 25% or so of buyers. I'm also cautiously optimistic and not ready to spend the extra coin on a Porsche.

Even though everything in my garage is a manual, a proper DCT is fine with me. Even if the manual is available on the C8 (and I don't think it will be), I will probably opt for the DCT.
No, it shouldn't. A DCT is a type of automatic transmission and your poll options also don't account for "both" which would ultimately make everybody happy.
Since A few on this forum said the ME will have an automatic trans like the A8 instead of a DCT, this poll needs to be fixed. I would not buy an automatic A8 none DCT trans ME. Manual or DCT for me, automatic A8 NOPE!
You can split hairs all you want on calling a DCT an auto or not.... bottom line is a DCT has a totally different feel than a true Auto.
I'd buy a DCT Corvette and not a true Automatic. So the poll is pretty much useless.
You are the one splitting hairs. If it doesn't require you to use your left foot to shift it is an automatic. Obviously, everybody prefers a DCT over a traditional automatic for a sports car.
I think people are misinterpreting the poll. The poll is asking what you think will be offered on the C8, not which one you would buy. In that case the difference between a DCT and an automatic isn't really relevant to the question being asked.
I have no clue. I can't imagine the Corvette team abandoning the 25% who still prefer a manual, and Porsche had to bring it back because of the blow-back they received from their faithful. I remain hopeful there will still be a manual option, but I won't be shocked if there is not.
And I don't care what anyone says, a DCT may have a different "feel," but it is still an automatic. The poll is fine, and automatic means either TC or DCT versions of an automatic transmission.

BMW did the same with the E60 M5 for the same reason. Not sure about later M cars, although I heard the latest M3/4 is only available DCT except some GT edition that is crazy expensive.
I gotta say, DCT only will cause me to really think long and hard about a ME Corvette. That's why I've been talking to dealers about ordering a Z06/ZR1.

I see this "25%" coming up constantly. Trouble is, it's not true. True number is more like 15% and declining.
