Default C8 Allocations

Has anyone heard anything on allocations for dealers? There's a pretty large dealership with a high sales volume that I deal with, a friend works there, and claims they were told they will receive 3 initial, then 3 more C8's for the first 3 months of production. So supposedly they will receive 6 C8's for the first 3 months of production. Anyone else hear anything like this or is this more from the rumor mill?

I don't know how many times we have to go through this. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY knows anything except for GM. GM has not revealed the car, let alone even acknowledged that it exists. We are not even close to talking about allocations yet. Your dealer is lying to you and probably trying to get you to make a deposit.

I thought the same accept he told me I was outside their initial 6 so I may want to try another dealership. But maybe he was given false info. We will see I guess.

Guaranteed he doesn’t have accurate info. The largest Corvette dealer in the world doesn’t have any info at all yet and acknowledged that already. Your friend doesn’t have an inside line that nobody else has yet.

My opinion is, it's hard to know what you don't know. In this, I don't mean you; I mean the dealer and person you spoke to. For all you might know, they may have gotten correct info from whomever they know at GM. Don't dismiss them out of hand. But if they say you should look elsewhere, that to me is a clear sign to follow that advice.

Wait 6 months and allocation will be a non issue. Heck you may even be able to buy a used one!

I'm curious how many corvette owners will or thinking about purchasing the new C8 for the 2020 models. As for me, I'm thinking by the time the 2020 comes out for delivery the second edition will soon be out with better options.I usually order the first year models but this time it may be wise to wait until 2021 model, Any opinions. Kerbeck is creating a list for orders but I think they are trying to get a feel on the response thereby decide pricing. Just a thought

Below is 2018's top 50 corvette dealers. From what I have heard, allocation details are still being ironed out, If they are on the list, it would be interesting to know how many they sold so if 6 in the first 3 months is accurate, it could give you an idea about how many the other dealers are getting based on sales.

One of the first hints that the car is on the way will be when they start sending technicians to school to learn how to fix it. So find a technician and befriend him.

OK, let's say this is true.

..What are you going to do about it, IF you want one of the first 3 C8s your Chev. dealer orders?

..Please respond, OP?

Damn, look at how many times Hendricks’ shows up on the list. I wonder if his combined corvette sales is any where close to Kerbeck’s?

For his 8 dealerships on that list of 50, the total sales are a little over 600 cars (just did a quick count), so he would be #3 on the list behind MacMulkin & Kerbeck. I am pretty sure GM doesn't aggregate sales for allocation purposes.

Here... My wife and I will be purchasing a C7 Corvette later this year, but we may hold out for a bit to see the C8 in person before pulling the trigger on a C7.

I was thinking the same but if you look what they did with their newly released 1500 they brought out the most optioned vehicles first leading with the High Country. Hoping they do the same here.
