Jalopnik released a render of the C7 14 months before it was revealed. It was about 90% correct. We are 3 months away from the C8 reveal. Dont get me wrong, we have had many renderings from several talented people on here that have put many hours into these renders. But I dont think any of the renders we have seen are as close to the real deal as the Jalopnik rendering.

Time will tell right. If the measure is 90% correct the renders we have may fit that standard. For me, when the padding and fake covers come off the car it will lose a bit of visual bulk and the intake will be somewhat different. Looking for some new details also, some sort of front end venting and the design of the spider retracting top.

3 months out, life goes on.

How did you calculate 90%?????

You have NO CLUE if that's 90% correct or not-the car has not been released yet.

Before anyone calculated percentages, I suggest EVERYONE watch this video. Even though the majority of it refers to Camaro, the C8 is the end of the video and apply this to the C8

I took his 90% to just be his opinion, especially since this whole section is dominated by opinion not fact! Lol. Anyway, Chaz renders of the Camaro and Mustang were pretty spot on but I dont think as much trickery was going on at the time from ford and chevy. I've enjoyed the renders, I mean heck, what else was there to work with and debate over!

The folks at Jalopnik were invited to actually see the C7, they have not been invited to see the C8 I guess?

No, they weren't. That render was based on a leak from a very privileged source within GM. They were provided with photos of the actual undisguised car. They had an artist more or less copy them, as reposting the actual photos would have revealed who leaked them due to so few people having access to the final designs so far ahead of production.

Which is why the OP's post is a good discussion starter. Heck, I'd say Jalopnik was >90% correct! And I'd also say heads rolled and security was further tightened this go-round.

Won't be long now -- will be very interesting to see which C8 renders turned out the closest.

Interesting, I was under the impression they saw the actual car, not photos, and then drew the renders from memory. And as stated, I'm guessing no one gave them access to anything this time around

^^^ Definitely not. For one, they thought it was going to be a ZR1 ! Plus, the hood vent as well as numerous other things are off.

Nope, not edited at all. The only modifications to this thread at all were a moderator getting offended and deleting one of my posts.

At that time I was on this site every minute and I still believe Jalop was as close as close gets. I don’t remember talk of a ZR1 although Keeks showed a colorized cad of a wide bodied car.
