Many people are liking it, but there are quite a few that don't. Some are saying it looks like an old NSX (how?!), and others are saying it looks like an El Camino (once again, how?!)
To those people: wait until the reveal before you start judging! This car is covered in fake panels, foam, and camo. It is not supposed to look good yet. If you still don't like it after the reveal, check it out in person. If you STILL don't like it then go cry in a corner about how your C5 is better, something about pop up headlights, bla bla bla. The Corvette team has invested countless hours into this car. Wait until you judge it. I already like it a lot. I can envision what it looks like under all that camo. And it is going to look great.
Happens every new generation... owners who can't accept any change or expect all future cars to be designed exactly how they would have and not understanding that may be a narrow view.
If the price is the $62k we've heard from C&D then this will be the steal of the century! I'm betting it will look really nice and hopefully appeal to entirely new crowd-just like Harley, the manufacturers need to appeal to a different and new demographic other than us old ****s. I'm still in the manual camp but that's now a minority and some get all hot and bothered when dual clutch automatic is listed. Time to go back into my cave............
I couldn’t care less about round tail lights or pop up headlights. I actually prefer non-pop up headlights. I also think the C5 looked boring, the C6 was ok, and the C7 the best looking Vette so far, although didn’t particularly wow me.
What I can see of the C8 the front grill looks very tall/large and pointed. The side scoops also seem to stick out quite a bit, and the back looks large and flat. None of those things I like.
I understand that there is still camo and padding on the car, so the final car might look better. I hope that’s the case, but we shall see.
there will always be haters no mater what brand of car you have or like . Other brand fan boys will troll as often as they can to spread their poison . I personally like both the C7 and C8
I think we need to repost this kinda a picture. This is a 2014 C7 spy shot.
Is it sad I almost like that better than the real deal... I like soft rolled over simple lines tbh lol. The C7 isnt a bad looking car, it's just not something I see myself in or buying... the 8 has a lot of c3 inspiration rolled into it imo. I like what I see. Who knows, when I see it I see it.
This happens before every Corvette introduction. The hate for the C7 was unbelievable to the point where forum members were making their own websites about why the C7 sucked before it was even revealed.
The C7 turned out to be the Corvette yet IMO and I don't expect anything less from the C8, especially since the Corvette program isn't on the chopping block or having funding issues for the first time since the the C4 days.
Why the hostility? I'm simply telling people to keep an open mind about the car. Reading comprehension is so hard.
If you STILL don't like it then go cry in a corner about how your C5 is better, something about pop up headlights, bla bla bla.
You will be hard pressed to find a more un-biased opinion than mine. I'm a GM fan, but no Corvette loyalty. I'm shopping for one simply because I like what it is more than anything else. I think the c5 happens to be the best balance of old and new. The good and the bad, for sure. I like the 6 too, but just can't stop staring at the lines of the FRC/C5Z!!! The 7 just looks so busy! -but there's no denying the numbers. I'm looking forward to talking crap to my Ford and Euro buddies about how good the c8 is, but I do think it looks kinda NSX "ish". Too compact. When it comes out I may love it. Again, I won't love it because it's a Vette, I'll love it if it looks good. Typically I don't care for ME cars. Just not my taste. Look, you're not gonna have someone who loves the 1 and 2 also love the 7 and 8. -and yet some still will. And many won't. Your opinion or love is no more valid than someone else not liking it. I don't even see why you would debate the issue, except that it's the internet.

I'll form my opinion when I sit in one. Never cared for corvettes and was even going to buy a mustang before sitting in a C6. Just something about it I knew it would be my next car. For whatever reason the C7s never felt right to me. Maybe the C8 will or maybe I'll end up with something else. That GT350 at the Ford dealer nearby looked interesting.
