9AM eastern time is proven to be the time when the most people on earth are awake and online.

it's tough to find a good slot for something like this, but I think 11PM eastern was not a wise choice. I work in a company that has heavy UK presence and critical projects going on so I'm up at 5 daily and 5 hours of sleep is not enough to have a productive day for me. I'll catch the highlights and the **** show of comments on CF the next day.

this seems to put way too much importance on west coast US viewing. Guess having it at 6 would have been a problem since everyone on the west coast would be stuck in traffic

Bedtime? As an east coaster, I can't find your post serious.

Everybody who wants to see this, will see this. Just take an afternoon nap, if needed. Or some no doze.

Agreed. I might have to stay up later to watch, and tomorrow is Friday so I don't have to be up early. Plus most of the attendees are either retired or have the lifestyle where they don't have to be at a real job, they're schedules are pretty open, esp. for today. My guess is it's still light out @ 8 PM in CA, because even in the very eastern part of the east coast, it's still very bright out @ 8PM so I don't think they're counting on it being dark out already?
I'm 36, and I'm in bed reading @ 9:30

Let's be realistic about this: outside of the automotive journalist and enthusiast forum-going crowds, few are actually going to watch. The event is for those in attendance, the time fits fine with the geographic location. Tomorrow morning, everyone will wake up and the likes of Jalopnik, R&T, Car and Driver, Motortrend, etc will have their coverage of the event and the important bits they care about without an hour of speeches from some senior GM execs that no one cares about.

Was anyone here up in arms about Ford's 4:30am ET reveal of the new track only GT on the Fourth of July? Did anyone here even know that was going on?

I'm thinking events of this type are not just local. You should consider the nationwide audience. If you want it to be dark in summer, have it on the east coast, where it gets dark first. It is just idiotic if you ask me. And yes, a lot of people go to bed before 11:30 on Thursday if they work for a living.

You could just get completely crazy and stay up past your bedtime for one night. I know, madness.

Well, I can't because I am in a camper full of grandkids at the beach. Everyone needs to go to bed at the same time.

If I was at home I would stay up until 10 pm, no problem. But on the east coast it will be 11. And I bet they don't reveal it at 11.

Mets play the Giants tonight in SF. It's okay though because most Mets fans haven't been watching the Mets anyway. With the exception of the last few games, they are a train wreck again this year.

Chevy is trying to screw up as much as they can with this never ending release and pitiful haphazard marketing. Oh, there is a 3 hour time difference between the west coast and the 140 million people that live in the east - forgot they go to bed before that - this is so amazing they will really want to stay up tonight - not?

Maybe they are doing it there to support the west coast dealers that will look for a $25K markup the first year.

Maybe they will broadcast it in low def 480 i so they can keep all those not paying to attend in the dark.

Who knows what they are (not) thinking.

I'm more concerned about how long it takes to get from the start to where they unveil the car.

This forum gets sillier by the day. Drink a redbull, grab some fritos, and enjoy it live.

To the haters, even the time of the reveal has them fit to be tied. Life must be tough when you're a hater.
