Default My C8 predictions

Just for funsies, I'm posting what I THINK the C8 reveal is gonna tell us. I have no info on any of this, all of it is educated guesswork (pulling it out of my ***).

Base model will be the only one shown.

510 (+/-5) horsepower (just to get it past the 500HP level)

7 or 8 speed DCT transmission

Three will be shown...I would guess white with red guts (traditional), red with black guts (traditional), and blue with beige guts (for the whole "made in USA" vibe).

Nurburgring times for the base model with Z51 package will be publicized and they will hover somewhere between 7:10 and 7:15.

Engine will be the 6.2 with a revised head design and completely different intake incorporating two throttle bodies for better response. I don't think it will have dry sump lubrication.

The interior in the leaked pics will be the 3LT equivalent interior. The 1LT will incorporate few, if any of the "bells and whistles" to keep prices low sticking with cheaper leather and fabric, black or grey only, no HUD, limited seat power, etc.

The 3LT, on the other hand will be swathed in Alcantara (which is really just fabric) and higher quality leathers and plastics, stitched leather-covered dash, etc.

Base price for the stripper model...I'm gonna say 65,000 Dollars...but that price will rise quickly with expensive options. I would venture a guess that jumping from the 1LT to 2LT will cost about as much as it does now...same with 2LT to 3LT.

I believe that (especially after the C7 A8 issues), they will have put enough hard miles on these cars to really have worked any bugs out of the DCT. I also believe that Paint and fit and finish quality will be significantly better than previous cars in order to compete with their intended target.

In any case, as I said previously, this is just some spitballing on my part. I'm eager to see if any of this bears out. Regardless, it's gonna be awesome.

Any thoughts?

My prediction? It will be an upgrade as the wheels won't bend.

It’ll have less than 505 HP to prevent the C6 faithful from losing their minds. If it goes over 505HP, the C6 will still take it above 150 MPH as the C8 will fall flat on it’s face there.

Take it to the bank!

I'm still calling it. The significance of the 7.18.19 date is the fact that it is the time the C8 ran on Nurburgring.

If you’re right I’ll pay the $10K ADM for the $62k base car...all day long!

My C8 prediction is that most of the people who posted on here with "insider" information from their "little birdie" will be wrong.

My prediction: More FE Corvettes will get washed and waxed tomorrow than on any previous single day.

Not so fast...if the C8 has a Double Clutch Tranny, it does, and, if it has 3.62 or 3.80 rear end gears, a new C8 Base Model will EASILY defeat a C6 Z06 that had 505 HP with the required manual transmission. Your comment about over 150 mph seems a little thin...who races over 150 mph?
Road course or Dragstrip, a C8 Base Car will be faster than a C6 Z06 in my opinion.

530 is a huge jump from the C7s 460. I can see 500 on the base car, anything less, would probably be a disappointment. And $10K ADM? The Supra is already commanding $20-$30K, and it looks to be more of a party foul, than this car is rendered to be. I hope the renders are wrong. I dont even like the interior. I may just be keeping my C7, until I can get a 992.

I think you are going to be very close on all fronts here.

Only 4 hours to go. Don't know about the rest here but I can't wait!
