Default New C8’s markup

Anybody reserved C8’s yet. I called my local dealer and they are marking it up by 10k. Another dealer said they won’t take deposit till price sheet is out which they said is next week.

what have you guys seen out there?

I tried the online reservation last night and couldn’t get it to go. Went to a local dealer today and dropped off a deposit to put me on the list. I was informed I was first on that list at this dealer. They told me MSRP, and in hindsight, I almost wish I would have got it in writing, but at this point I’m not sure it would matter since it’s not a sold order yet. It’s odd to me to set up an order on July 24, and not know the price until early August....
I’m not certain if it’s good or bad, but Sales Mgr told me they had turned down a couple C7s they were allocated. My gut tells me that may put this dealer further down the fulfillment list. I don’t really want to be a Q1-2020 delivery, as I won’t be able to drive it in Michigan at that time anyway. Doubtful, but maybe by Q2 they’ll be allowing GMS pricing. Paying MSRP for a car will be a new experience for me. Paying ADM is something I’ll never experience.

I placed an order for the c8 and the dealer marked it up 5k. I walked and wrote a one star review on dealer. Dealership GM called me within minutes of posting my review and had me come back in. GM processed order without 5k markup. All GM asked was for me to delete my review. I left 2.5k deposit. Should be interesting to see if all goes through. I have a bad feeling markup will re-appear on delivery date.

Get your deposit back and move on. There are too many reputable forum dealers here to do business with.

I went to Hawk Chevy (Joliet Illinois) a few days ago to see the new C8. They were charging $10,000 over sticker if you wanted to be in the first allotment. I can't help but wonder if anybody ordered the car and was willing to pay that much money over sticker.

I got $500 off MSRP for loyalty to the dealer. Don't pay the silly price gouging. Plenty of reputable dealers that don't participate in that nonsense.

This topic has been raised a bunch of times. There are a lot of dealers that are selling at MSRP. You just have to find them. There are the dealers that advertise on this forum and a lot of other dealers around the country that sell at MSRP. You have to shop around.

They need to be exposed on the list of dealers NOT at MSRP!

There is a Sticky Post where the MSRP dealers are listed. If a dealer is not doing MSRP there are plenty of dealers that will. Check out the post here on C8 General.
