I guess they must have found a warehouse full of NOS late 50's Chrysler acrylic steering wheels and covered them with leather and Corvette logo. UGLY then, UGLY now.
I applaud Corvette for getting ahead of the curve on the steering wheel. When I bought my 2014 C7, it still had a circular steering wheel! How's THAT for being behind the times....

I wonder what aftermarket company is going to produce round steering wheels for the C8. Really though I can't wait to see the car at Carlisle. Maybe the wheel will grow on me.

Not a fan of it but I swore I would never own a C7 because of the taillights . I have a C7 and love it so you never know. By the way it's a 14 with the round wheel.
I wouldnt NOT buy the car from simply the looks of the steering wheel.
That being said, i was hoping for something more exotic from the c8. MAYBE then other versions of the c8 will produce something different from the drivers perspective,
Although I don't like the steering wheel it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. However combined with other interior pieces I don't like my C7 suits me just fine.
I'm not opposed to the steering wheel design, but am confused by a couple of things:
1. If you are turning rapidly and have to change hand position without looking at the wheel, it is easy to do with a round wheel, but with a flat-topped wheel, it seems like the anticipated hand position would not be as expected.
2. They are claiming that the flat-topped wheel improves visibility of the display. I don't understand that, because you look through the steering wheel, not over it, to see the display. Therefore, if anything, the flat top encroaches on your view of the display.
