I thoroughly enjoyed my C7, but it looks ancient next to the new car. I know I'm a broken record, but I'm very glad I had the foresight to sell the car a few weeks ago.

The blended in air vent under the main screen was cool and soft close trunk!

2025 C7 of the Year Finalist- Unmodified

***Go directly to 1:15 in the video to see the profile of both cars.

The C8 looks awesome but the C7 still looks great to me. Since there will be no manual C8, I'll be looking to keep my C7 M7 and add the C8 in a few years.

To me it's really more than generation change. For comparison, what I mean is the C7 is to Ferrari's F12 or 812 Superfast (front mid engine, RWD) and the C8 is to Ferrari's 488 or F8 Tributo (Mid engine, RWD).

The C7 is GT sports car just like the 812 SF while the C8 is the more track focused 488 or F8. For those looking to buy now, it's a great time because you have the opportunity to choose and it all comes down to personal preference.

Also as a bonus, for those who wants a manual, keep in mind that Corvette & Porsche are the only 2 brands of full on sports cars that held onto making manual transmission cars all the way until now. But one way or another, it's coming to an end.

Since Ferrari, Lamborghini and the likes stopped making manual years ago, the C7 is technically one of the best manual sports cars you can buy, period. That to me makes the C7 "current" and relevant for years to come despite the new gen coming, if that makes sense. Looking to own the C8 also in the future.

C8 is going to make C7 just as old and tired as the C7 did to the C6, and maybe even more so.

Why don't they have the rear lid be power operated fully?

Exactly. And I love the blue opened up light interior vs the fully closed white C7 lol.

The new car is this. It's new. We've been looking at the C7 design for 6yrs. New just means "Never Ever Worked" especially coming from chevy...

I'll wait for the Z06 version and enjoy my ancient, C7 for the next 4 or 5 years pick up the new Z06 at 20% off and enjoy it thoroughly. Hopefully I can atand to get by with what I have now.

ME is all the craze.

See how we feel when there's 50k on the road and 20 at every cars and coffee..

Well the C7 is a nice looking car indeed but wait until a C8 parks next to it! It's not about the Kool Aid it's about reality ! Who cares how it plays out year from now people are buying it like hot cakes and others are cancelling their Porsches, Supras and Gt500's deposits to buy this car and that's a fact, Plus some guys are making it sound like GM just started the business of building cars!

If someone is worried they will be all over the place then go buy a Ferrari if you can afford it! I see C7's on the road now more than Honda Civics and still think its a nice car, dealer lots have more 2019's C7's than ever that they can't sell due to the C8, If GM is giving me exotic looks with super car performance that I can take to my local Chevy for an oil change for 60k
then I don't care if I see 60 of them at a coffee shop!

Exactly. No need to be Guinea Pigs at this point. Besides......the C7 is a real Corvette. Tried and true. The C8 is basically an experimental series. Too soon to tell whether it's even worth buying.. The discounts off MSRP that come in year two and three, makes it worth the wait anyway. After going Corvetteless for 43 years, my C7 is a ball to own and drive. Besides......the C7 is a proper convertible with the flat rear deck, as well as an M7 - Manual Transmission. Two BIG items you cannot even get on a C8..

I'm good for now.

Lets face it most Corvettes, Porsches, etc. spend 99.9% of their time locked up in a garage, very few are daily drivers, some but very few. C8 Corvettes will oviously become a more frequent sight on the road in decent weather but will not be in the dime a dozen class on the road.

Yep, I’m getting one of these... I’m still bummed about the lack of a manual, but this car makes the C7 look like a TRex.

Ok! Cool !!! But the C8 is what the Corvette should have been decades ago as in Mid Engine and it is not going to change ever, Chevy was just late to the party! And if big discounts are coming in 2 years how much discounts do you think the C7's are offering now and how much of a hit a used C7 has taken as of 4 days ago?

You could have a C7 ZR1 and park it next to a C8 and no one will notice the C7 anymore!!
I am not saying discounts won't be coming as it is after all an American domestic car and it depends on supply/demand and I have a feeling this car will be in demand for a while.

Many people are judging the C8 without even seeing it in person or driving it ! But every person that already put a deposit on one they obviously know it is twice the car as any previous Corvette maybe more, just a totally different league now.

I would like to see them side by side from straight on into the rear. The front of the C7 is an awesome sight. But the rear of the C7 seems so tall compared to the C8. Probably not as much as I imagine. Maybe width of the cars having something to do with this.

Lol "ancient" c7, it still dominates as a great drivers car, gm said so themselves reason for mid engine change was cause they were reaching the limit of a front engine rwd. and the post about it being for the youth this car has no driver assist tech like adaptive cruise and lane keeping assist which is becoming the norm even with corollas and civics. C7 was great and c8 will succeed because of that. People need to stop hating.

“We wanted people to know this is a corvette”. The only way people know this is a corvette is by the badge and Google. Looks look nothing ever before, in GM history. Except for the rear end. It’s just a redesigned camaro in the rear.
