What were the designers thinking when they came up with the wheels for the C8? Personally, I think the two best wheels are the Pewter Open Spoke and the Black Trident Spoke that are part of the Accessory Performance line, which sadly, no one will want to run full time because the rears are 10" and not 11." With all the amazing options the rest of the car has, how do they only come up with such limited designs and colors for one of the most important aspects of a vehicle?
I'd have to agree. I'm usually one to go for bright exterior and black wheels but the stock carbon flash wheels look lighter then the C7s black wheels not to mention the metallic ring around the wheel which just throws everything off.
The black trident wheels are the ones I want but like you said, second set of wheels and smaller. If I was buying now I'd have to look for an aftermarket set.
Hopefully when I pick on up in a few years they will have changed up the selection.

Yep, biggest question I have when "building" my Z51 C8 is wheels.
First two Vettes an '88 and '93 had polished aluminum. My Yellow C6 had Gray, my 2014 Z51 Red had Black and my current White Grand Sport has Machined Faced Aluminum with Gray in the back.
Like them all and it depends of paint color, IMO. Pricking ones for the Long Beach Red Z51 is still a bit up in the air Have time before my "number comes up!" Looking for pics with Long Beach Red. My current choice would be Spectra Gray Machined Trident Spoke. It has a Gray in the back. We'll see.
JerryU, for what it's worth my choice is LBR with Natural interior and the same wheels. I would prefer an all black version of that design, but I have no problem with the Spectra Gray/machined trident wheels. After several Blade Silver and various shades of gray Corvettes, I am giving in to my wife who really likes LBR. (This will be our first auto and therefore the first she will drive. lol.)

Yep, we both looked at the available colors and LBR was our choice.
Funny, my wife can drive a standard shift (or at least she has!) She had one in CT and like mine we did not have AC. Bought her a new 2 dr sedan with AC and an automatic when we moved to SC 35 years ago. She didn't like it so we traded it for a Honda Acord with a standard shift!
That said, she has never driven even my 5 Vettes (all standard shifts.) Says she is afraid if she gets a scratch I'll be very mad- which is true but she is a good driver! I have tried to get her to at least try in case her SUV is not available (like I have it!) I will work to get her to try the C8!
