Allocation / Order question
One dealer puts me in spot 11 of 18
The other puts me in spot 4 of 6.
If we forget about order constraints, does anyone know which scenario would get me a car quicker?
Deposits are not dealer gouging. It's protecting their orders from people who have no intention of finally placing an order

I had my deposits placed with a large volume dealer(Sherwood Park Chevy) that had me in the top half of their first wave of allocation. After their official allocation was released, they decided to charge an extra 10% above MSRP. I had them immediately refund my deposits.
That left me scrambling to find favorable spots without much time to do my homework, which was BS because I already “secured” my spots early, or so I thought.
I had two dealers that were able to accommodate, both of them had returned my call after I had left voicemails. I explained that I was now speaking with a few dealers and was open about the bullshit I just went through with the other Volume Dealer.
They both told me they’d honor the spots they quoted me for an hour, while I made up my mind.
I left both of my deposits with the one dealer that I decided to go with (I’m ordering 2 cars from one dealer) and that was that. The other dealer had his answer within the hour as requested.
It was all pretty straightforward, especially considering all this happened within an hour of their allocations becoming official and they needed time to get their ducks in a row as well.
