Let me guess, you go to McDonalds every morning wearing light blue trousers pulled up 2 inches above your ankles with a white dress shirt tucked in and sit there with 3 other gentlemen that look just like you, drinking coffee and checking out everything that walks in and out.
Sadly I agree with this guy. People keep posting photos from the Chevy website that is skewed to look nicer than it really is. Real life photos are showing a completely different car in the details.
The front looks great. Everything else however does not..
I'm sure to be flamed for this thread... do your worst! However, after viewing all of the pics and videos of the C8 I can't help but feel that it was assembled by a group of folks who couldn't agree on anything! The rear end is absolutely Butt Ugly! Toyota Camrys have cleaner rear ends than the C8! It looks to me like a late model Camaro after being rear-ended.
The front and sides are just too "husky"... like a fullback who can't seem to lose those summer, milk shake pounds. Okay, it's a fast fullback with a 3-second 0-60 but... so what! How often in your driving experience is that relevant?
Having attended the original introduction of the '53 Corvette at GM's Motorama in NY, and having had fifteen Corvettes over the years, going all the way back to several C1's, I just find it difficult to call the C8 a "Corvette." To me, the two prettiest Corvettes were the 1962 and the C7 Convertible. I, for one, just don't get the styling of the C8.
you sound like joe budden but if he was 100 years older and cared about cars
That's the thing, see one IRL. I'm not crazy about it but every time I visualize it in my mind, I start to like it a lot more.
If I had one I'd drive the friggin wheels off it!
Stark reality is that you are not their target market. They are looking to a younger generation. Let me guess, you go to McDonalds every morning wearing light blue trousers pulled up 2 inches above your ankles with a white dress shirt tucked in and sit there with 3 other gentlemen that look just like you, drinking coffee and checking out everything that walks in and out.
Times change and so do target markets. Out with the old and in with the new.
So, someone expresses their opinion and your witty (half) response to personally attack the poster? Just because you have aesthetic differences of opinion with someone does not justify these ad hominem attacks. Your response is disgusting.

Are personal attacks against those with whom you disagree necessary? Great minds attack ideas not people.
Being a huge corvette fan I am too not liking the design shift. I doubt I will ever be buying another corvette (supposed to be the younger gen they are trying to attract) and am also concerned with the quality of finish, as when you start penny pinching on price it will come back to bite you. Looks like there might be the same issues that were present on the C7. GM has probably just made the car cheap as possible and it might not end well in the long term.

Hey, I've had 35 of these things over 48 years. Still have a few of them, including a 61,65 and C7Z06. Loved them all, but I will respectfully disagree with your assessment of the C8. This car is the fruition of Zora's dream. I think they hit a home run with it both aesthetically and mechanically. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but at least see it in person before you decide on it's appearance. I'm all in on it and the DCT. For Corvette to continue it's legacy, this was entirely necessary! Time moves on and we are lucky to have a Corvette like this one.
On another thread, I quipped that the C8 looks to me like it ate too many pizza pies so it plumped its pooper.
But here is what I suspect: I'm probably about the same age as the OP. Over many decades* we got used to the looks of Corvettes C1-C7 and other FE sports cars. We (or at least I) haven't paid that much attention to more recent ME supercars. The fact is that the vehicle portion aft of the cabin has to be reasonably big to accommodate the engine and transmission. Younger folks understand and accept that. Some of us older folks know that, but because a certain look is so ingrained in our brains, ME cars look to us like they have a big butt.
I think the C8 is a brilliant accomplishment. I just have to get used to the ME look.
