Default Simple convertible....

From the rendering shots of the possible C8 convertible top, it looks like it's just barely slightly larger opening than the targa top, almost full hood.
I love the flat openness of the flat convertibles of my C5 & C7.
My current Jag F-type has a simple rollover hoops right behind the seats:

I hope that they keep the C8 convertible top flat, instead of being targa +....

It's far more open than the targa, but not as open as the flat deck C5/6/7.

There's more to this than just finding space for the roof. Some of it is structural strength and also its cost.

Remember that the Vert and coupe run on the same line at the same time. Sharing as many common parts reduces cost and assembly.

I have a Saturn Sky Redline, which I'm thinking about replacing with the G8 convertible. It has slightly less pronounced humps on the back. With the top down, they don't interfere with rear visibility at all, if that's what concerns you. Hopefully it'll be the same on the C8 convertible.

Does the window behind the seats go up and down on the spider version of the C8?

To me it looks like the only open space beyond what would be open with the targa is between the two headrests. It appears that the headrests are much higher than in the C7 and are used to support the roof when it is in place. I couldn't visualize how the top would work, but recently saw a video on another ME where the top flips over and lowers into the storage above the engine. It is like an automatic targa top.

Yep... will be nice for fall or early spring when you can have all 3 windows up and the heat on and be perfectly comfortable.

Youtube search how a Ferrar 458 or 488 roof works... it'll be very close to that.

Really liking the humps, looks very Speed-racerish I must say which is a good look.

Hey now mister....it is against FEDERAL law to have your side windows up when the top's down.
Don't want you to get arrested when you get your car.

The problem with the C8 vert is that you loose the engine under glass view similar issue with the R8

What are these fin looking things between the two headrests? Part of the camo?

I wonder if the August 15th pricing would include the convertible option...
