Because of the added weight I just can't see doing the 'vert when I've already planned to drop money on Z51 and Magride. Seems like the added weight (thought it's in the middle over the engine) will definitely slow the car down a bit.

We don't know how much more its going to weight yet....over the Coupe.
What will make me choose the coupe over the convertible is being able to see the engine.

I would bet the weight difference is minimal. The C7 convertible was 64 pounds heavier than the C7 coupe, and that was all power top mechanicals. Since the C5, corvettes have not required ANY additional chassis structure verses the coupe (i.e. the convertible chassis is IDENTICAL to the coupe chassis)
Do you all think that the hardtop will be in between engine and firewall or on top of the engine? I don't see a lot of space between the engine and the firewall.

Exactly, plus I'd wager that there are a bunch of Corvette owners would do good by themselves to lose said 64 pounds...
Very reliable source told me there will be a world reveal in the middle of October. That’s all I know about it.
Won’t affect me I’m happy with the coupe and it’s removable roof.

An equally reliable source told me world reveal in October, first public showing at Los Angeles Auto Show in November, start of production in March and first cars delivered in June.
