Ever since my wife won't allow me to use Rhino ramps get under any of our family's cars to do oil changes anymore. With the except of our C7, Jag, & BMW which has free/included oil changes for the first few years of ownership, we have a very reliable indy mechanic who has done over 40+ oil changes for all of our cars over the past 12+ yrs. We bring the Mobil 1 oil & filter, & he has always charge $20 for the service.
Now with the Mid-Engine C8, wonder how much more difficult for him to do & if he'll still be able to do it for the same $20....
I’m betting not since the job will likely require specialty tools.
For an oil change ?
I don't see why it would be more difficult or require specialty tools.
How do oil changes work on the dry sump C7s ?
My Aprilia motorcycle, which is dry sump, has two drain plugs (1 on the oil tank, 1 on the bottom of the engine case) and a cover with 2 bolts to access the oil filter. It takes 10 minutes, and most of that time spent consists of removing and replacing the fairings.
