I'd like to see how the black pillars look with the transparent top, since supposedly that doesn't have the sides painted, especially on a white C8.

I was getting planning on the transparent top but not anymore.
For a couple hundred bucks you can paint or wrap the spears. Check out what folks have done with their C7's in that section.

I would not give up all the benefits of the transparent top just because I happen to like the painted spears. It's not like painting or wrapping them is ruining some NCRS classic...

I hope the black A pillar will remain a Corvette signature after we’d lost the quad center tailpipe and the round taillights. What’s next?

I agree, I have the transparent top on my C7 and love it. The problem with the C8 is not the fact the A pillars are painted but unlike the C7 where the top extends to the window edge,. The black A pillars actually enhance the overall look. The painted area on the C8 surrounds the transparent top extending across the upper windshield edge. This makes the top appear like a aftermarket add on.

I wish it was an option, I am going with orange and would do a transparent top if there was no body color between the windshield and the top and I could opt for black A pillars, especially since I here the top will not have body color side strips, however I am just as fine with a painted top, keeps car cooler too.

Chrome wheels, mechanical gauges, and having the engine in front of the driver. The Corvette has to evolve, or it will find itself in the same position as Cadillac, sales and prestige dwindling.

The black A-pillars on the C7 made any top look like an aftermarket add-on. On the C7 with the transparent top, you had these two weird spears hanging in mid-air.

You mean with the exposed carbon fiber top, you had the two spears. The C7 transparent top didn't have the body colored spears.

Some people just can’t move on...there is always a $20k off brand new C7 Z06!

Not willing to start a poll, but the same anti-black A-pillar crowd, probably dislikes black rims, black grills, black roofs, black badges, black exhaust tips, black lugs, black-out tails and side markers, etc...
Both A-pillars look fine, if yours is delivered different than your taste, a few benjies can make it right.

My C7 and C6 both have black A-pillars, never thought much about it, and know of no one who had them paint-matched after purchase, and know of no one who allowed it to be a buy or not buy criteria.

I would bet the car has a black top and black buttresses. This treatment is optional on Ferrari 488 and McLaren convertibles.
