Looks like offset crashes are going to be easily totaled. There is the radiator bracket then immediate impact to the tire and its control arm probably damaging the structure in the process.
The rear has that carbon fiber bumper across the entire rear end for protection.

Note that this was not a customer car
Customer deliveries for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette have yet to kick off, which means we're dealing with a manufacturer vehicle. Of course, the car could've always been driven by a journalist.
I got $20 says a bicycle is involved. I used to live in the canyons and bicycles caused accidents like this all the time. One car moves over the line to avoid somebody struggling to pedal up the hill, next car comes around the blind corner and whammo.
Was the vette at fault or did the SUV get into their lane?
As a guess and strictly a guess based on where the cars are positioned, it would appear that swinging wide out of a turn (c8) rather than cutting a turn short (SUV) would be the likely cause. Dunno, but twisty roads, sports car, a little too much speed.....................If I had to bet.
