I never buy the first year of a generation change. 2005 & 2012 Corvettes were a night and day difference. I will wait for the discounts and bugs to be worked out.
As soon as it became apparent there would not be a manual transmission on the C8, I jumped and ordered a new 2019 Stingray Rag Top M7. Love it. I have not stopped smiling since I picked it up in April.I do love the looks and speculated performance of the new C8 but will be a while IF i decide to get one.

I like the C8 but it hasn’t made me want to get rid of my 15z. I’m waiting for the C8z to see if it moves the needle more for me, I hope it does, then I’ll end up with both a C7z and C8z...if not then I’ll live happily with what I have
Right now enjoying my 2019 Z06 M7 Convertible. Next Friday going to check out the C8 in person but still going to wait for the Z version before I make any final decisions.
I actually ended up liking the C8, but I'm in no rush to replace my '19 ZO6/ZO7 M7 coupe. IF I do decide on a C8 it won't be until they bring out the ZO6 or ZR1 versions, and I will need to make another trip to Spring Mountain to see how it drives compared to my ZO6. I'm still upset about the lack of a manual transmission, but I'll keep an open mind and never say never.

Got the e-mail the other day, I'll be there on Friday too. I was thinking about doing the Cars and Coffee today, but after seeing that they'll have the new Corvette there next Friday I'll drive up then, I'm about 80 miles out.
agreed.. and who the hell makes a video about a car they are not going to buy but will go into details of how he would configure it? lol I had to stop the video after that.. Youtube must be paying good for making up sh^t on anything.

Car enthusiasts do! And they also appreciate all different cars.

Who makes videos like that? People trying to monetize their YouTube account to make money, that’s who.
I wonder why all these repetitive “I won’t buy a C8” rant threads aren’t posted in the C8 forum.

I'll buy the YouTube idea, but nobody's really saying they won't buy a C8, they're just saying the won't buy one right now, myself included. No disrespect intended to those who do buy a C8 Stingray, but in my case I'd see that as a downgrade to my C7ZO6. Plus, I won't commit to buying a car I haven't even SEEN yet, much less driven. The C8 sounds fantastic on paper, but let's see some driving impressions and non biased road tests of the car first, and I'm guessing they will have a few issues with the totally new design, maybe minor, maybe not, as they had with the C7's, especially the early ZO6's, so I'll wait a bit until they get all the bugs out and bring out the Grand Sport, ZO6 and ZR1 versions before I decide. The car will have to really impress me because I love my ZO6, but then again when the C7 came out, I didn't like it, but now I own one.

Word!
We are in the c7 forum because we made an informed, conscious choice to own and drive a C7. When i owned my c6's i didn't even visit the c7 forum here until 2016, near the end of the extended warranty life for my last c6 z06. One of several choices, and i still had a chapped *** from the valve dropper 427. Well, the generally positive remarks in this forum led me to dip my toe in the c7 z51, in 2018, after two years of reading comments here! One year of non-stop smiles with the c7 z51, and the GM FU! Attitude to long time corvette owners led me to buy a Z06 in May. I didn't know i could smile more than i did with the Z51! So, if the GM EPP warranty continues to offer 84 months after the 36 month basic warranty, I won't even start reading the c8 forum until 2028, after i have sucked all the smiles and miles out of my c7 Z06.
I don't need to diss the c8, it is simply too far down the expected life horizon of my new c7 to be of interest at this time. I'm still hoping to fly a Cogswell Cogs or Spacely Sprockets Jetsonmobile by then!

I'm still on my honeymoon with my 19' Z06, plus I'm allergic to paying full retail for anything, whether it's a pair of socks or a $100K sports car so I will definitely wait until the higher performance/widebody models arrive and dealers start selling under MSRP before I take a closer look.
I will say that so far, I have not felt the "gotta have it" emotional response I did with both my C5 and C7 models. I'm sure I will warm up to the looks once I see a few in person, however I'm going to enjoy my C7Z for at least 3-4 years before I take a closer look at the C8. Funny, because I bought both my C5 and C7 Corvettes the last year of their respective model runs, 2004 & 2019 so historically, I've never been the first in line once a new model is introduced. I like to check out all the real world color and option combos first, plus with such a drastic platform change, I'm sure GM will need to fix a few things the first few years of production.
