2LT cost $4500 on a C7 but did not include nav. You had to order nav for another $1800. On a C8, nav is included in 2LT so the price of 2LT can be expected to go up appropriately.

On a C7 Z51, part of the $5000 price was for the dry sump system. Now dry sump is included on all C8’s so I’d expect the Z51 price could be lower.

* Of course other changes in content of both packages may affect pricing.

As to the audio:: I have a 300W aftermarket system installed in my Ferrari.
I have owned my Ferrari since Aug of 2001
The stereo has been on exactly 3 times (one of them the test drive).

IMHO:: When the engine sounds good, you don't need an audio system.

The one thing that I have never understood is why GM would sell a $60K plus car and force you to purchase a $5-7K package to get some things as basic as universal garage open(homelink).

There are cars costing 1/3 of the C8 that have that feature.

Really it comes down to price, we'll know soon. If 2lt is 4k, no brainer for sure. If it's 8k, with 3lt being 11k... Then different story.

Cars costing 1/3 the cost are in a vicious global battle for sales amounting to hundreds of thousands/millions of units per year. These shitboxes are updated yearly to maintain competitiveness.

High end/lower volume cars are refreshed less often and force you into options as a profit pad. Same as Porsche, MB, etc

Nobody's as bad as Porsche when it comes to options though. Have you ever actually gone through an options list for any of them? Last one I saw was 20 pages long!

I wouldn't get 3lt if it was no extra cost. Too much history with peeling/shrinking dash.

Im buying this car as a car purely for fun. Its going to see HPDE days frequently. Because its not a daily driver I see little value in most of the 2LT options. Because it will be used on the track frequently, I'm hoping that means a 100lb weight savings or so when you consider all the fluff left off of it. Chevrolet did go out of their way to say the 1LT will be lighter so I am hoping that is true.

Due to my intended use as this being a fun car I am ordering it 1LT with Z51 and the high wing for pure performance. The only option im on the fence about is mag ride purely for the performance traction management program but I'm probably passing on it.

If it was a daily driver, i'd definitely pull the trigger on the 2LT package if it came in anywhere south of 7 grand.

Everything I want in a car is on the 1LT option packaged. I have had cars with what the 2LT includes and never used the options. With that said, for those that enjoy those features I believe they are well worth it.

I would get the 2lt if I were buying besides the extra features I don’t want to see a bunch of blanks on that long row of controls. For some reason blanks where options would have been turns me off.

Yeah, that isn’t a very good look, is it? I wonder what the actual weight reduction is going to be by sticking with the 1LT, and whether GM would consider offering a few options a’la’carte for those who want certain track goodies (like the HUD, ventilated seats) but not the other items.

With the addition of the Nav/PDR I am guessing that the price for 2lt will be near $6,000.
Also better materials are going to factor into the price

Ill do 1LT ...i believe a 10 percent cost increase for z51 fe4 and another 10 percent cost increase for the 2 lt. (7 grand for z51 fe4 or 7 grand for 2LT)

Thursday we will know for sure.

z51 fe4 for sure for me. 2LT will be a pass for me. The 2LT is a gateway to other options like gt3 leather seats and the E60 lift and a whole bunch of luxury items.

for many fully loaded vehicles is how they live and I thank them for doing so as it allows GM to offer 1LT as well.

ive have 3 new corvettes over the past 20 years and higher optioned corvettes did not entertain me any better than the 1Lt. So for me...1LT is a better purchase for me.

z51 and fe4 yes, 2LT ill pass on for the c8.

jmo

Same here. I’d rather use the 2LT dollars for Z51 and FE4. Not much of a luxury guy. Just want to go fast.

It was $4,500 on the C7, and the C8 adds the PDR/Nav which was $1800 standalone on the C7, Then it adds the rear view mirror / camera, heated steering wheel, power folding mirrors, blind spot / cross traffic warning, passenger memory seating and the upgraded 14 speaker stereo. Don't think they're going to fit all that in for an extra $500.
