Magnetic Ride
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
MSRC is a "Handling" package and the misconception is MSRC is only about being able to Soften or Stiffen the Ride.
Yes it Softens the Ride, but that's a bi-product because it makes the Ride more Compliant and keeps the car more in control.
It does this by keeping the tires in contact with the road and the car more in control over rough/uneven/dips/rises in the road surface because the stiffness and softness of the shocks are independently constantly changing in milliseconds to the road conditions.
Without MSRC going around a bumpy curve, the rear end will bounce and skitter sideways as the tires lose contact with the road like a pickup truck with an empty bed.
MSRC keeps the tires in contact with the road allowing the car to stay stable, smooth, and controlled at speed through the bumpy curve.
Since it's conception, GM has improved the MSRC each year and see no reason the C8 will not have the latest enhanced MSRC software configuration.
I wouldn't buy a Corvette without it and if you think about it, it pennies on the dollar after you figure the total price of the car when you're done.
Especially since it can't be added afterwards.
Just my Opinion from my first hand experience.

With that said... I’m seriously PISSED OFF that it order to get it now it will cost me $6,995 freaking dollars. I DO NOT want Z51. I DO NOT NEED Z51.
Seriously thinking of dropping out of my deposit pre-order and waiting to see if after a freaking boat load of complaints, GM, Chevrolet, Corvette goes back to allowing it without making you drop $5,000 on an option you DO NOT WANT!
I think that used to be the case. Not sure if it was offered starting in what year, maybe 2018. But my 2019 offered it. That’s why I’m hoping maybe they’ll see their way clear of doing it again. Because...well, it’s just the right thing to do. Lol! I’m not going to be forced in to it for an extra $5,000. I don’t track my car but that doesn’t mean I can’t utilize the adjustable suspension to my satisfaction yeah? Here’s two shots of my window invoice.
Although, technically, you are right, because a non-Z51 Stingray with Mag Ride is designated an FE2.

Would they rather have have an additional $1895 from me or Zero?

Real bummer that we have to pay for the Z51 to get it.
I did not realize that the MSRC on the coupe C7 was only $1795. On my 2016 Convertible it was $3495. Wonder if this pricing variation will carry over to the C8 Convertible.
