As you can see from my usename Im a Corvette Newbee and now a C8 Lover. Originally I have not been a Corvette lover (Sorry), but have been a Camaro lover and was going to get a ZL1 or a Z28 if they came out with one
in 2020. Once I saw that reveal of the 2020 Corvette I deffinately changed my mind. Thats how bad I want a 2020 Corvette. I have currently put down deposits at 2 dealerships that will be selling at MSRP, but thinking about putting down a third deposit since they are refundable. I figure 3 strikes then your out, but they are dealerships that Love and Sell a lot of Corvettes, so wish me luck.. lol.
One thing I have noticed is these cars can get expensive quick when you build with the options you are wanting. Upon doing some research I noticed the price differences from a 2017 to a 2018 was $1140.00, and from a 2018 to a 2019 was a difference of $405.00, but from 2019 to 2020 it seems like a $3000.00 difference on the 1LT and a $5845.00 difference on the 2LT and a $5205.00 difference on the 3LT. I was just wondering from everyone who has always had Corvettes Is this a Normal Price increase or is it because of the hype of the new Mid Engine Car? In your opinion do you think that price increase for the C8 is worth it?
I hope to know more from people who have been around Corvettes a lot and love them.
Im getting one now ..because they will never be cheaper.. Plus I know the Z06 will be even more $$$ to I dont want to wait and dont want to pay more later....plus the Mid engine C8 is going to draw allot more people to the brand because of the mid-engine.. so I don't expect any discounts soon...
I think the base priced C7 Corvette at 55,995 is priced as a manual. The automatic I've read somewhere adds 3k. But, that is a traditional automatic, a new designed PDK has to be more then 3k additional price, so from my perspective, it looks like the C8 base is cheaper then a C7 base with the less expensive automatic that it comes with as compared with Tremec PDK in C8. Not using destination fee for either car in price comparison. Certainly all the added tech in base model, uprated engine and interior all makes it a dramatic bargain compared to base C7.

Yes, it is due a lot to the hype. You asked if it is worth it. Is it worth $80,000 for a 1LT with no options? What about $100,000 for the same thing. Only a buyer can tell you if its worth it. That question entails a very subjective answer. What it is worth to one person, may not be to another.
I have reviewed some information from different posts and have decided to hold out for a Convertible in 2021. I believe it would be easier to remove the top with the push of a button instead of having to take it off and put it in the trunk. I just want to make sure that all the "Bugs" are worked out after the first year release. I have not sat in one yet, but will be taking leave in October to head back to the states as there will be one coming to Florida to see.
