I am in line for a C8. I have lots of GM rewards points but cannot find out what they are worth towards the purchase. Does anyone know how the value of the points is calculated or where I can find out? No rush. Car is probably 6 - 9 months away.
not quite sure you are right. I have over 45,000 points. don't think I will get $45,000 off a new C8. But if I do, I promise I will come to wherever you live and give you a free ride.
Are you referring to the new rewards program, or accumulated earnings from a credit card? I'm not sure the rewards program is for money off cars. I thought it applied to merchandise and parts. For the CC program, it varies. Mine max's at 500/year up to a max of 7 years or 3500. It is the original program. I think there is at least one program that allows unlimited earnings per year but max's at 10% off purchase price.

It has a maximum dollars off cap. Call the credit card for the exact maximum number. IIRC, it's either $3K-$4K.

It depends on the card! I bought wife new Equinox my dealer told me they would probably cap me!
I told him No. He check I got 7500$ the new car purchase!
My Buypowercard doesn't expire on the points and there is No cap.
I have a GM card, and typically I get a $3000 "bonus" that I can use towards the purchase of a new vehicle close to the end of the year, but it has to be used by the end of December....AND many times there are certain vehicles that can you can NOT apply those points towards.....and of all the vettes I have owned, they were on the list of vehicles you could NOT use them on. all but the last one I bought.
The bonus points for the credit card that gm mails towards the end of the year are for older vehicles not hot off the press cars and trucks like the upcoming c8.
the bonus points are in addition to the credit card bonus points accumulated.
the original poster is asking about a different type of bonus point system for service and the purchase of a new car etc...
that as stated is listed above as 20,000 points equaling 100 dollars and has nothing to do with the gm credit card.
