I remember this from the C7 release.. some said they wouldn’t buy until they could drive it.. ok wait.
i have owned 9 Corvettes. Never drove one before I bought one. There are at least 30,000 ( my guess, not factual)
sold cars with owners waiting to “ test” drive them. I figure April at the worst for me. Don’t want it this winter anyway.
Its going to be a long time before dealers have "a demo" car on their lot waiting to be sold.
Some dealers will have a few dealer stock cars in their order stream, but they won't let anyone test drive them because then they instantly become less desirable.
What is the main concern about driving it first before ordering?
Are you worried the C8 will feel like a kia driving around town?
This car's styling, tech, and price has no direct comps.
Worst case scenario, I can always flip my initial delivery and get back everything I put in (ordering at msrp so maybe then some)
How can some fault many of us for wanting to drive the car first? If you dont want to, congratulations. It kills me how we can be faulted for taking our time with the decision to buy a $70K+ item.
Some of us are taller than 6 foot and others are well over 200 lbs. That matters and more than just sitting in a demo for 5 minutes
To those questioning the desire of many for a test drive, gimme a freakin' break. You should be secure enough with your gotta-have-it-now attitude, so others making a more deliberate and informed decision should not threaten your own decision making abilities.

I agree with you. I am 6 ft 5 in and 245. I do not fit in the C7. I am told I will fit in the C 8. I don’t know, looking forward to sitting in one at least
Well I have two coming I've never driven...2020 C8 and 2021 Chevy RST 6.2L Suburban...both in the same year...I'm actually more excited about the independent rear suspension on the suburban then the C8...

Having never driven one? How many are ordering having not even sat in one?
I will if they ever start rolling them out! that threatened uaw gm strike may set my efforts back even more-kids might take away my key fob by then!
no strike, run three shifts, forbid dealers to charge above sticker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been on the list since since a year ago in June. Expecting the call shortly for placing actual order. Also on list for Z06 or performance variant. Even before we saw any cars we all had a good idea the C8 was going to be something special.
My dealer called me in last Friday to put my order in. I was #8 on the list for first allocation of 30 cars. The dealer is ranked #1 in NYS and has an allocation for of 100 2020 C8's. I have sat in a few of them both at Corvettes at Carlisle and prior to that at the mobile showing at 3 local dealers (same car). I had no qualms about ordering one without driving one. I bought my new C4, C5 and C7 that way and was never disappointed.....they just keep getting better all the time!
Not saying it will not be a homerun but I need a look see in person before put down a payment.. I may or not like the car. There are a few model years would not touch no mater how cheap, just look on Craigslist.

Have one ordered as a Retail-Sold. Went to Carlisle and sat in the passenger side ONLY on purpose. Looked over to the driver’s side and know I will be satisfied. First time in the driver’s seat will be during demo after a walk around post PMI and doing the paper work. Disclaimer: At 5’10””, 205# I know I’ll fit.
