Default Blade Silver

Hi guys, I have always had White in the past, I have a white C8 on order. I’ve been seeing a lot of great pictures of the blade silver and hearing that some of the experts think that it shows the lines better in the new C8. Just the thought of people that have actually seen the cars in person which I have not, waiting for another 10 days to see them. Probably won’t get to see the silver anyway. Appreciate any opinions, thanks!

I've owned a Blade Silver C6 and C7. The color doesn't show dirt like others, stays very clean with a hydrophobic coating. You can't see Xpel on silver either, but the carbon flash elements really pop against silver. And almost any interior will work -- you can have red, blue, Natural or whatever you want.

Blade Silver and Arctic White are both current C7 colors. May be worth going to see them in person at a dealer.

You can't go wrong with either one. Arctic White and Blade Silver are my two favorite vette colors. In fact my first two vettes were white and my last 3 have been silver. I think they both look sleek and do not show dirt nearly as much as the other colors. One of the other reasons I like Silver is that you don't see many of them at all compared to the white ones. Sometimes not having one of the most popular colors makes your car stand out in the crowd.

You don't mind explaining about not seeing the xpel on silver, thought you couldn't see it on any color? Going to ppf a Elkhart lake blue?

I went to the NCM 25th anniversary celebration on Aug 30, 2019 (Friday) .

I saw several C8's . The one that I kept going back to was the Blade Silver
C8 . It was truly beautiful . Clean lines and Silver Wheels . Just beautiful .

I am retired, can't afford a C8, through enjoy following it on the forum. I have learned that some of the cars I appreciated the most were not ones I owned. Anyways, if I could afford one I would go with the silver, plain black ILT interior , throw some aftermarket wheels on it, call it a day. The color is classy, understated, and timeless.

On a teacher's salary/retirement I have to be practical. I went into education to change the future of students, not to buy nice cars. It is a compromise I made and would do again. I never understood the logic of we would get better educators if the salary was higher. To me, being an educator is like becoming a minister and you don't do it because the salary or benefits were slightly better than another profession.

Back to the C8; Yes, the Z51 is an improvement but .1 seconds acceleration improvement and a slightly faster lap time isn't worth it to me. I believe very few owners make a living off a 1-2 second faster lap time and instead, track their car for the driving experience. With that said, I could enjoy the interaction of driving a C8 2 seconds slower per lap just as much as with the Z51 package.

Good luck with your future C8!

Silver is stunning. So much you can do with it and that color does stay clean.

Only thing is the light metallic colors there’s always a chance of motteling. Uneven paint on silvers.

It’s on constraint list or I would have ordered it over white. I have no idea why?

I was debating back and forth on several colors, but always kept coming back to Blade Silver. I saw a couple of Blade Silver C8's at Corvettes at Carlisle and it convinced me. So, that is what I ordered last week!

I went with Blade Silver...2LT, Z51, and the standard silver wheels. My '06 GTO was Silver Metallic and I really liked it...didn't take long for me to decide on Silver for my C8.

I have an Arctic White C7, but have always loved Blade Silver. As I was at a dealership yesterday with a C8 on the floor, and then looking through all the in-stock C7's. What really stands out most between the two colors is how much more shine the Blade Silver has. It was also the first time I saw Shadow Grey in person. I was very surprised how dark a grey it is - much darker than any other grey I've seen on the Corvette.

Blade Silver is my favorite color for the C8.

Love the Blade Silver on my 17 GS . I think it also looks great on the C8. As stated above any interior color looks great with Blade Silver. I chose the Spice Red interior for my 17 . Looking forward to seeing pictures of Morello Red interior I thinking it would look great in a Blade Silver C8 !

It's better than white and shadow gray. What I would like is platinum Gray. They alway tint color the dark gray colors rather it be blue or yellow hew ruins the color.

The only problem with Bordello Red in the C8 is that every interior surface is that color (dipped effect)
