Unless you have inside confirmation, this seems unlikely due to the 'depth' required for that setup. More likely is something that will lie above the engine (otherwise, why not have a window above the engine, which we've all heard is not happening). The height profile of the rear also suggests this.
Watch the Video? You mean the computer rendering that can stow the top wherever they want, regardless of all laws of gravity, physics and actual physical dimensions? The answer is no one knows until the reveal.

Your one one of those conspiracy people who love to find negatives in everything. Retractable hard tops are not rocket science they have been around for years. I’ll bet you a beer that the video is accurate. By the way I really got a chuckle out of you using the laws of gravity.

I don’t have “ inside “ confirmation. I have see the C8 and in my opinion “ which is not inside information “ there is plenty of room. If you recall the seats in a C8 can recline a lot more than those of a C7. Maybe the convertible uses some of that space. The roof is not that large.

Anyone else who has actually seen the car can tell you there is nowhere near enough room between the engine and bulkhead, or the bulkhead and seat, to store the top. There isn't enough room to store a really nice bath towel.

Nor is the space behind the seats "that large." Then there's the minor detail that the roof is wider than the interior...

A "know it all" said the vert will be a hardtop that will fold and sit vertical behind the seats. Anyone confirm this???
Fyi, there is an open to the "public" (you have to buy the normal KSC visitors complex ticket for $54) Oct 3rd in the Rocket Garden at the KSCVC 11am - 1pm. I believe the company GM contracted to do their roof retraction design also did the McLaren so due to that and it being less complicated then the 488 Spider design I expect it to look just like this:

I'll take that bet...the company GM contracted for the retraction design also did the McLaren 650S:
