Could happen.First: is was a leaked plan ~4 years ago when it was said Caddy Engineers had taken over the ME interior design. Thoughts were since Caddy was in trouble perhaps that would give it a lift and be a way to start with low production while still building a FE Vette.
Second: They are building the Caddy Blackwing in Bowling Green- great engine for the "Caddy C8."
Third: And most important IMO to GM, Cadillac needs a high end SUV! Like Porsche said when we bought one of the first Cayenne's: "Folks buying Porsche Sports cars have SUVs- Might as well have one of ours!" The Porsche Macon and Cayenne volumes far exceed sports car sales. Chevy doesn't need another SUV. Their image is NOT having a high end SUV. Caddy has the image and there current SUV offerings are not great! So expect a launch would be of two cars, 1) a luxury version of the C8, with real leather on more than the seating surface, softer ride, high end stereo and some additional high end electronic "Do-Dads" with 2) the same name on a high quality SUV to compete with BMW, Porsche etc. Just don't call it an XLR!
