So on the official corvette builder on Chevy's website they no longer list the ground effects kit in carbon flash - only visible carbon fiber - as an option but I'm pretty sure that was listed in the official options list that came out a few months ago. Did they get rid of the carbon flash option?

Did it ever? 5W8 has been listed as "Late Availability" while 5VM has not. Both are in the detailed Order Guide. Perhaps the online configuarator is merely reflecting the fact that one is available to order now and the other is not yet available to order.

the 5W8 code is in the order guide.....and considering that you can get all the other parts of the car is Carbon Flash....and many of them its STANDARD ....... I hope when its time to actually go to the dealer and order mine.....its available, as having to MIX MATCH the carbon flash and carbon fiber would really SUCK....not to mention it would cost an extra $1000!
