Default Carbon Flash Question

What is carbon flash?

If the surface is damaged, how is it repaired?
Thank you

You repaint it like any other paint. Its just a metal flake clear coat over black (or black metal flake with a clear coat).

In either event, its just like any other paint damage.

NOTHING more than black metallic paint. If damaged just REPAIR and repaint.

I think the OP is confusing Carbon Flash Metallic (painted surface) versus parts made of Carbon Fiber.

Thanks Son City and Zymurgy.

I know about carbon fiber. It's been around since 1958.

I just have never seen carbon flash.

Thank you for the fast reply.

Take a look at just about any C7. The lower rear fascia is carbon flash metallic as are all of the vents (except in fairly rare cases where they were optioned with color matched vents).

It's just GM's idea to try to give black a little more "flash"
