So I’ll be buying a c8. Planning to wait on the Z06 as that’s what I truly desire (plus I’m still tearing it up in my c7). Looks are most important to me. What do you think the chances are that we will see a model (hopefully z06) come out looking similar (front grill, side air intakes, etc.) to the c8r. I do understand it’s the race car so obviously the street car won’t sit as low or have the spoiler, diffuser and what not. But I can’t sit here and say the stingray and c8r look that alike. Some of the pieces that really give the overall impression of the car as it sits there are vastly different (again I point to the front grill, side intakes, and venting). Now that I’ve seen it, I gotta have it!
I also am hoping for extensive styling cues from the C8r. The extra width and flare make the body style much more pleasing to me than the "thick" looking base model.
The Z06 will likely look more like the base C8 than the C8R and if anything gets extreme race car looks it’s going to be the ZR1. And even that will be toned down compared to the C8R.

The rear of the front fenders will not be on the Z06 that's for sure, but I bet the grill will be similar to the R. The section below the doors is so much better with out that body molded skirt and the R's full side skirt is a plus. I'm hoping that is real close to the Z minus the extreme wing and fender flare out on the front fenders.
I know lot of you want to see C8 body stance lower to ground, but I can tell you this, the lower body panels on that car would not last 10 minutes on lot if streets in City I referrer to as home.
It wouldn't even make it across two railroad crossing or even moderate speed bumps, much less some of the tall narrow ones use to really slow a car down in some residential areas.
I'm not even sure the C8 Coupe I've ordered, even with front lift, can even Crab over some of them, not because of the nose height so much, but because of the Front Brake Duct Intake only being around 3 1/2" off the ground that sits just forward of the front tire at Std. Ride Height, maybe 4"- 4 1/2" with lift. I have a strong feeling it will be broken an flapping 1st week of driving. At least it will be the 1st mod to car...

Looks...no problem buy a base C8 and change the whole body. After market is your friend.
There was something about the base/Z51 model that was bugging me, that I couldn't put my finger on, until I saw the C8R. The C8R looks like the car they designed FIRST and then toned it down and made it narrower for the base model. Even if it wasn't I'd say the chances are high they borrow heavily from the C8R for the Z06 as it was most likely a teaser for things to come and will be a way to upstage the 2020 and keep the momentum going next year.
If the C8 Z06 looks as similar to the C8.R as the C7Z06 looked compared to the C7.R, it will be a grand slam in the looks department.
I'm also excited for the possibility of the exotic engines that seem to be in the pipeline to match the looks. Talks of DOHC twin turbo flat plane crank to the possibility of AWD with electric assist front motors. If there is any smidge of truth to the rumors, the C8Z is going to be epic!
