Default Bigger black wing

with the new TT caddy blackwing motor now only seeing a very limited production, plant closing, maybe 600-800 or so cars.

Is GM going to use this engine as the basis for the new vette engine by using a different bore stroke. I think so. It would be daft to spend all that $$ on engine development for such small number of engines

the vette version based on cad drawings would lose the hot v setup and park the turbos down low with some flowing manifolds to keep the packaging and intercoolers in the current c8 engine bay

Funny thing is now caddy uses the 2.7 turbo 4 truck motor in the caddy. I'm curious if anyone from the caddy side of the GM street knows the fate of the 100k blackwing caddy and this engine.

Looks like one hell of a car, maybe like the old "days" vette will share the caddy motor that "would never" be shared. From the write ups the tt engine has a very narrow power band and is "choked down" to 600 and 500 hp variants, I have no doubt a bit more aggressive version could spank out higher than 755 to be the next "king of the hill"

What caddies do have that motor in them.
Cts-v? I thought they stopped producing the CT’s-v. Because last year they had the zo6 motor in them.

The Blackwing already requires 20 lbs boost to produce the power it does. How much more boost can they push into it, on pump gas?
And it may not be suitable to utilize higher revs to get more power, since it has a very long stroke-to-bore ratio. The stroke is already very close to that of the LT1, and excessive piston speeds produce lubrication and longevity issues.

It’s currently in the CT6V and will probably go into the second version of the CT5V and possibly even the CT4V. I could see it making its way into aversion the Corvette in some form.

BxS : 86 x 90.2 , alum block with press ins. , forged crank, but shitty pistons (though poly bottoms and lowered comp ring for boost all good), forged rods, 9.8:1 all good for cooled 20psi. >bore , < stroke, square it up, drop cr to 9.5, more aggressive cam, kill the 720s

current black wing is a narrow power band engine designed for pushing the lard around

the z motor will be up over 800 hp likely with around same boost

bore stroke would change as would displacement

I'm surprised gm would build this engine and then let it die

think of the current 2.7 truck engine times two That would give the same parts a new lease on life

GM will likely go the turbo route with dohc and a bit more displacement for the vette

although 3.8 or 4.0 seems to be the target displacement for many of the high hp euro boosted sleds
