“Despite the fear of C8 production delay, Corvette Racing’s team manager Ben Johnson says he has no concerns about fulfilling the homologation requirements for C8.R to makes its track debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January 25–26 of 2020.”
FIA requires 500 built for homologation. Where are those 500 5.5L 4 cam Corvettes going to be? Hmmm....

That 500 minimum is a joke of course. Ford snuck the new GT in under the wire with NO street cars produced. Money always talks and IMSA will want the new C8R on the track. Looking forward to it!

Considering Ford raced the GT before a single one was delivered, and BMW raced a motor that wasn't offered to the public for nearly 2 years.... There there's the mid-engine Porsche, which doesn't exist in any form off the track. I wouldn't worry about the Corvette homologation.
