The boomerangs on the side are my least favorite thing appearance wise about the C8. Not sure why GM decided to make it a separate piece and highlight it in black.
When asked about chrome wheels, Tadge said (and I’m paraphrasing), the industry is moving away from chrome, and there is also an environmental impact.
I was not aware of an environmental impact. I googled environmental impact of chrome wheels and found this:
There are several known dangers of traditional chrome plating involving heavy metals. Chromium contains Hexavalent chromium, which is a known carcinogen. The plating process uses lead, which can be absorbed through the skin and can cause liver, organ and brain damage. Cyanide is very toxic. It is used in the chrome-plating process and can be deadly to humans. Finally, cadmium that is used in the process can cause cancer and kidney and lung failure.
Many chrome-plating facilities expose nearby residents to hexavalent chromium and other dangerous byproducts that can lead to increased cancer rates in the surrounding populations. Because of the potential damage to the environment that metal finishing can cause, chrome-plating facilities must treat their wastewater before releasing it. The byproducts also must go through a rigorous disposal protocol because of the dangers that they pose.
Chromium may cause the development of cancers in people who are exposed to it. Because of the other heavy metals that are used in the chrome-plating process, people may also suffer kidney failure, lung failure, brain damage, liver damage and organ damage. People who accidentally ingest cyanide that is used in the chrome-plating process may die.
I work with products that require electroplating and chrome is pretty rough. There are some ways to do it clean but its expensive. My guess is that's the real problem, not that you can't do it, but it's expensive.
Hey, guy, I got invited to attend a seminar with Tadge, Harlan, and Kirk. In this seminar they did a great job of explaining the side vent and why its there, along with the CFD testing. They also answered tons of other questions with comparing the C7 and C8. They made a lot of great jokes along the way and I asked them about chrome wheels which a lot of my followers wanted me to ask. GREAT JOB Chevrolet!. I also shouted out the CorvetteForum as well. Enjoy!
I was not aware of an environmental impact. I googled environmental impact of chrome wheels and found this:
I think one of the GM guys I know had said that the C7's chrome wheels had to be "sent overseas" to be chromed, or something like that. China, if I'm not mistaken; but don't take that as gospel as I don't remember exactly where. The basic challenge, if I'm not mistaken, is that it's either illegal or "heavily frowned upon" to do it here in the states.
You do this every time to get a reaction out of me or expecting me to respond negatively but I am not going to! Clearly you haven't watched the video as this video is literally the Chevrolet team explaining the side vent and CFD but I also have to realize you are probably jealous of my success and opportunities as well. With that being said I expect your click bait emoji any time a video is posted. The crazy part is you always post that non-sense but never have a response. Have a good weekend.
Thanks
Lol, really click on the video and you will see! Regarding the lambo doors I know someone who does like them
I appreciate you for taking the time to actually post content, BUT I also have to say that your content is often either not what a reasonable person would have expected based on your headlines or you contribute very little value to the content being displayed. IE you simply read what can be read in the shot. So while I thank you for your efforts, I encourage you to really take a shot a step change in its quality. No shade just genuine constructive criticism. Peace.
Clarence thanks for posting there was some good information in there. Ignore the racist trolls here, they just want attention. Best thing to do is ignore them.
You got "invited"? You mean, like every other one of the 10,000 people at the NCM 25th anniversary in August?
Oh, and please learn to (a) pan the camera smoothly. I almost got whiplash the way you swung the camera back and forth at the beginning. Who cares about the crowd laughing anyway? And (b) keep the camera focused on what's important. When the presenter is talking about an image on the screen, we need to see what he's talking about, not him.
Clarence, don't mind our CF Resident Troll in Chief, C8Jake. He is stuck doing odd jobs to afford a base 1LT C8 and hates to see people of color doing well in life
So someone criticizing the relevance of 'youtuber' clickbait content means they are:
Hey, wouldn't it have been great if the OP could have summarized the highlights in a paragraph or two, with a link to the video for those who might be interested in watching for a half hour, and deciding for themselves if the summary was accurate?
OP, what is your response? I do realize that Youtube videos need to meet certain requirements to reach a large audience, and generate significant revenue. So are you a hustler, or someone who can cut to the chase, honestly?
But it wasn't click bait that's the issue. Regardless if if what negativity that comes from this forum I will continue to do by best with providing content. Some of the guys in the forum are wonderful people that I met. And some are just guys who has strong fingers behind keyboards because they type negative crap all the time.
TheSmokingTire is irrelevant comparison as that YouTube channel was created in 2009 along with the fact they create content on so many other different cars. Back in 2009 YouTube wasn't the same as it is now. How about you try making one YouTube video and see what happens. I am just happy I for sure have a few haters in this forum that will be jealous no matter what. You posting all my videos doesn't bother me lol just more advertisement. )))))
