Default Some different photos...

Yesterday got to see the C8 for the first time. Car was ELB with white interior, and since we've seen some awesome photos of the exterior of the car, I took some different photos that I hope are helpful. My wife and I travel on big road trips in our C7, so luggage space and ergonomics are important. My wife really liked the passenger area, feeling like it was well defined as "her" area. I think most negative comments about the passenger area are coming from people that are primarily drivers, and yeah, from that POV it is restrictive. As many others have commented, the driver's area organization is outstanding. We couldn't power up anything in the car, so I can't really tell how well the steering wheel integrates with the displays. It *seems* like they'll work great, but when you're looking at a black screen.....

Seats were GT-2s and were very comfortable for both of us (we're both of medium build). Couldn't tell anything about headroom because the first thing they did when they took the cover off was take the roof off.

Personally, without powering anything up, and discounting the mid engine placement and the DCT, the C8 is just an evolution of the C7. Once we get to drive a C8 we'll find out how revolutionary the ME and DCT make the C8.

Passenger footwell width (tape measure is 2.75" wide):

Driver's footwell width:

Now, on to the storage areas. The trunk can take long, narrow hard cases, but will really store a lot of stuff if you use soft luggage. For reference is my Canon camera bag:

The biggest surprise for me was the size of the frunk. It's nice and deep, able to hold our ice chest that we use on our road trips, plus plenty of room for small soft storage.

For comparison, here's the same ice chest in our C7:

Finally, the height of the Z51 nose splitter:

Hope these are useful for y'all, and have a good one,
Mike

I know that the terms revolutionary and evolutionary are subjective, but my point was, without the ME and DCT, there's just not a lot different between the C7 and C8. Now, with those in mind, the C8 is the most revolutionary change since the C2 was introduced. Only problem is it's going to probably be next summer before there's any chance I'll get to actually ride in one.

Have a good one,
Mike

Thanks for the measurements. Point of clarification, there is no white interior, it’s light grey. How do you think your wife would feel on a long road trip with her left arm & the ski slope of buttons?

It looks in pictures I've seen that the passenger has elbow access to the center arm rest.. I suppose that button wall could be an issue if she prefers to have her hand on the drivers leg.

How many beers will that cooler fit? Just thinking ahead

Any more exterior and interior pics? That is the color combo I ordered. They call that interior gray but it looks white, at least for a while.

I just assumed it was white with a lot of bods having climbed in and out over the past several months.

I asked my wife specifically about the comfort in road trips, and she thinks it's more comfortable than our C7 (3LT), which we take on 2 week road trips every year. It's almost like the "ski slope" becomes a side wall establishing the passenger's "ownership" of that space (I don't know how else to describe it).

Have a good one,
Mike

I'm not sure I understand; Just took them when we were at the reveal at Bale Chevrolet in Little Rock. If you're asking how I was able to get shots with my ice chest, etc., I just stuck the props in, took the shot, and got out of the way.

Have a good one,

I personally feel like this is a refreshed C7 with a mid engine. Still love it none the less and want one.
